It had been a few days since Sabine left for Mandalore, and Ezra was fighting himself with all his strength, to wake up.

'You can do this, Bridger.' he thought to himself as the darkness that surrounded him faded a bit. Concentrating, he tried to creak open his eyes. His body didn't comply, staying still.

Ezra wanted to slam his fist down in frustration. He couldn't stand living like this! He could feel the anger boiling up inside him.

Maybe the anger was holding him back... Throughout all his years of learning under Kanan's teaching, he had learned to let go of the aggressive and distracting thoughts. To not harness his negative thoughts and use them, but instead the positive ones. Hope, trust, family.

Centering himself, the young Jedi felt only peace. Using the force, he felt his surroundings and tried to connect with them to pull him out of his coma.  All of a sudden, Ezra felt his finger twitch.

It was taking too much of his energy. He had to stop. Taking a moment to regain power, he pondered over what he was doing wrong. There was something missing. Something that he wasn't doing right.

'Think, think...' Ezra mentally told himself. The first thing that came to his mind was Sabine. His artistic warrior. Her voice telling him that she always loved him.

He thought about her. The way she smiled, her sarcasm, and the bright look she got in her eye when an amazing idea came to her mind. Her unpredictability. All the times she had exited her room with a new haircolor or repainted armor. And how she rolled her eyes or slapped him behind the head when he was being stupid.

That was Sabine. His Sabine. The one he loved with all his heart and would do absolutely anything for. He would come back for her.

All at once, he shot up in the hospital bed. Pain went through all of his body. Scared, Ezra pulled off his oxygen mask. Bad idea. He started to choke and gasp without the help. Machines were beeping all around him, and he had no clue where he was.

A doctor came rushing through the doorway. She had obviously heard the commotion. Ezra reached out to her, fighting for breath. The female miralian reacted quickly, prying the mask back on the boy's face.

"My name's Dr. Sanu." The woman said in a heavily accented voice, putting her hands on the shoulders of the boy to calm him down. "We are here in the rebellion. You're safe now. Your crew will be here shortly. We need you to calm down." She reassured him.

Ezra nodded, staring at her with his big blue eyes. He found himself unable to speak, but tried his best to. "Wa-wa-wa-TA!" He managed to croak out.

Dr. Shanu understood and rushed off to the sink in the corner to get him a cup. As soon as she handed it to him, he ripped off his oxygen mask for a split second and gulped down the liquid. The woman watched him in admiration. "Mr. Bridger," She declared a matter of factly,"you are absolutely one of the bravest people the Rebellion- or this Galaxy has ever known."

Ezra shrugged, water dribbling down his chin. He held up his cup, asking with his eyes for more. Kriff, he was dying of thirst.

There was a knock on the door of Ghost. And then a louder more frantic one. Hera, being a light sleeper, tumbled out of her bunk and went to answer. She was shocked when she saw that it was a medic.

"Captain Syndulla," The man panted, trying to catch his breath. He had probably run all the way from the medbay. Force, they should have landed closer to there. "You- you have to come immeadiately."

Hera's heart sank, expecting the worst. She didn't notice that Kanan had left his room, and was standing right next to her. "What is it? Did Ezra's life support fail? Is he dead? Please don't say he's dead!" She frantically expected the worst, not daring to hope for even a second.

"No ma'am" The medic answered her, trying to calm her down.

"Ezra Bridger- he's awake and waiting to see you."
