Hera couldn't take any more of the cloud of misery that had been surrounding her small family. Over the past few weeks, she and Kanan had waited hopefully for a sign- anything that slightly confirmed Sabine being alive. But their hopes were only to be met with dissapointment.

No one had really moved on from it. It just became a bit more endurable every day. Kanan and Zeb were already back on supply runs, and typical missions. And Hera had to jump back to her high position in the rebellion. They weren't exactly thriving under the circumstances, but they were going to make it through this time of grief.

The same thing couldn't be said about Ezra. The only time the young man would come out of his room would be to eat meals when they forced him to,  to train by himself vigourusly, or to go to Sabine's makeshift grave.

The rebellion and crew had opted out of creating the memorial after all. They had decided to keep it simple, with only a colorfully painted stone that had the words "Sabine Wren, a beautiful artist, young woman, and a warrior almost none could rival in skill or battle . We shall miss you for as long as we roam the Galaxy." Engraved on it. Hera had the feeling that the Mandalorian would've preferred that to anything else they could've chosen to honor her memory by. Despite herself, she smiled fondly as she remembered the youthful artist who was no longer with them.

Focusing her mind back to Ezra, the mother's concern grew. He hardly talked, and when he did, it was always a one word answer. His sparkling blue eyes had lost their twinkle, and was often lost in his own world. There  was only one word to really describe the raven haired boy: empty.

Hera sighed, and closed her eyes, massaging her lekku. Chopper was recharging, Kanan and Zeb were on a simple op, and Ezra was boxed up in his room, most likely meditating. The twi'lek didn't know how to reach out to him. Should she confront him, and attempt to prod him out of his state of depression? Or should she just  leave him alone and let him grieve? To be honest, the woman wasn't sure on what to do about it.

A thought occured to the woman. Maybe Ezra would do well by socializing with others around his age. That was one of the reasons he and Sabine got  close.  And he at least needed to get out of his cabin.  Even if it was only for a few minutes. This was so hard to deal with. Hera couldn't imagine what her son was going through right now. Sure, she had lost  people she loved dearly in her life, but never her significant other.

Hehe, Hera. Don't I wish....

Ezra had been in the same position for hours on end, attempting to meditate.  His emotions were all jumbled about in his mind, and he couldn't focus properly. Without Sabine, he felt lost in the force. Like  he couldn't use a proper bond with it anymore.  He hardly remembered how Vader had tortured him,  (and he  didn't want to remember), but he was sure the sith lord had turned him by using Sabine. Now that his love was dead, he felt... devoid of feelings. Not anger or need for revenge. Just plan lack of care.

The reason the boy was so badly trying to meditate was because he had recalled all those years ago when his parents had died. They had appeared to him, after they had died, telling him to stay strong. If the same thing could happen to him right now, if he could at least have a PROPER goodbye with Sabine, then he could really move on....

"Ezra?"  A hand from behind clapsed his shoulder. "Come on. Get up."

"whu?" He creaked open his eyes to see Hera standing above him. "What is it?" He almost grumpily asked, frustrated that he was disturbed. Didn't she know how important this was?

Hera sighed and pulled the young man up with her surprising strength. "You have to get out of this room." She stated simply, examining her son. His abnormally thinly stature frightened her, and his hair had grown noticeably longer. Someone needed to get this boy a pile of space waffles, and a hair brush.
