"Sabine?"
The two stared at each other, both too paralyzed with their emotions to move. The last time they had seen each other... everything had been falling apart. Now, the only thing that separated them was a few meager feet.
"Ez," Sabine breathed, making her way towards the young man, until their faces were only a few inches apart. She cupped her hand around his cheek, barely believing that the moment she had spent months fantasizing about was actually coming true.
He stared at her, disbelief in his azure eyes. A tear trickled down his face, as he shook his head. "I know you're not real," His voice trembled. There was no possible way that she was... that she wasn't dead. The love of his life was gone, and there was nothing that could change that fact. "You're just a dream. You're not really-"
Sabine broke him off. "Shut up, Bridger!" She threw her arms around his neck, and their lips met. At first, Ezra was shocked, but for the first time in months, he felt utter joy. As they kissed, he ran his fingers through her short hair. Oh how he had missed everything about her.
Every touch sent a chill go down the Mando's spine as her lips brushed against his. As far as kisses went, this one was a soft yet passionate one. If her heart hadn't totally fallen for the young Jedi before, it had right now.
As the pair broke away from the kiss, Ezra held her tight. "How- what happened- How are you-" He immediately began to question, wanting to make sure that this really wasn't an illusion.
Sabine put a finger to his lips. "Shhhh." She mumbled, leaning her head against his chest. The fatigue, hunger, and lack of energy was really starting to get to her. "Not now. It's too long to tell right now." Her eyes flickered from drowsiness, and much needed rest was consuming her. Before she could stop herself, she fell asleep in his arms.
Ezra grinned and planted a kiss on the girl's forehead. As he carried her bridal style back to the base, he looked down lovingly at the young woman in his arms. He still couldn't comprehend what had happened and how she survived, but he did know one thing: this was the happiest moment of his life.
I CANNOT BELIEVE I WROTE THAT. BLEH. IT SEEMS TOO CHEESY AND TOO OVER THE TOP. There's a reason I only write depressing romance. I literally spent till 1:30 AM last night analyzing romantic scenes and taking notes on how to write them.
Send help, a 13 year old anti-social geek just wrote a romantic chapter. How did I do? You know, for a young innocent teen.
Anyway, you guys deserved that. I'm sry for all the torture I have made you people endure in the comments.
You know, I feel like future me will look back at this and cringe. If so.. HIIIIIIIII MEEEEEEEE!!!
OKAY on with the story

Kateari had spent the first part of the early morning doing routine checks on the X-wings. As she made her way back to the pilot quarters, the grease covered girl hummed a song under her breath, and swung her tool kit from side to side. For someone who had had a limited education about it, she wasn't bad at doing repairs to ships or any other sort of machines. She certainly wasn't prodigious at it. Like her baby sister had been...
She shook those thoughts from her head as she continued her way down. She and Wedge had planned to meet up for lunch and a walk later on, and she needed to go get changed out of her filthy jumpsuit. Bopping to music coming from an illegal holocast nearby, she strolled along the hallways. There was no need to be in a rush. But where was everyone? Usually, fellow pilots and rebels were roaming about, but there was no one in sight. Was there a meeting going on, and she hadn't been informed about it?
"COMING THROUGH!" Kateari turned around and got out of the way just in time as a med crew rumbled on by her. As they rushed by, she caught a brief glance of who was in the gurney. It was a dangerously skinny girl, who was obviously fighting for her life. All time seemed to freeze as she stared at the patient being rushed to the medbay. Dark skin, poofy hair, and the same nose as someone she had known from the past. Could it be?
The world around her was muted as she trembled with bewilderment. She stared in the direction of the medics even after they were long gone. Possibilities ran through her mind. "It can't be.." She muttered, dropping the tool kit she was holding. It dropped to the ground with a big bang.
The next thing she registered was Wedge shaking her by the shoulders. "Kat," He asked worriedly. "Kat, you okay?" She shook her head, feeling dizzy.
"It's her." She rambled. "Oh my kriff, what if it's really her?!?" The young pilot put her hands to her face. "But it's impossible! She's dead! I watched her die!"
"Whoa, whoa, calm down!" Wedge said, and held her still. "What are you talking about? Who's dead?"
Kateari shook her head, desparately not sure about how to put it. "It's Kit. I think she's alive.." She trailed off and stared in the direction of the medbay.
The young man wrinkled his forehead in confusion. "Who's Kit?" He asked puzzled. His girlfriend had never ever mentioned anyone named Kit. Truth be told, he didn't know much about her past at all.
"Kit! She's that girl on the gurney!" She took a deep breath and looked straight into his eyes. "And she's my sister..."
