Hi I'm back with another chapter. I'm now on city of ashes aka book two which I think I will make it a little easier to convey it into my story because there's no real adaption of it to get confused with it to influence my writing like with city of bones and the movie butI am going to add in my own lines and scenes to ensure that I can properly adaptable to my style, it's like a mash between the movie, the books and my head so it might not follow the same order of events or be exact because it is my own work. I've kinda just decided to do my own thing in this chapter because of the story didn't work exactly and I just felt this was more fitting and a little different so hopefully you enjoy it. Thank you for all the favourites, follows and pms, please don't forget to review. Don't forget to follow/favourite/review/ pm me because I would love to hear what you think, also pm me if you have any suggestions or requests for this story

Chapter 18: the same dance

Piper woke up confused and alone in her bedroom at Magnus's apartment as she grabbed her glasses and her grey slipper boots before heading into the living room to look for Jace since she had began to wonder where he was since she knew that he had been with her when she had fallen asleep but found that the living room was empty too except for Luke who was now laying on the couch wearing nothing but a pair of pyjama bottoms since it was clear that a tshirt would annoy his bandages, she headed to the kitchen where she grabbed Luke a glass of water and pour herself a glass of milk. Piper began to worry and stress about where Jace could be as she busied herself by checking on Luke's wounds to see that his healing ability was kicking in finally, soon she began to pace the living room filled with restless energy as Luke tried to comfort her as much as he could. Soon Jace asked walked into the apartment slowly and sluggishly before Piper realised that he was injured and judging from his injuries it looked like he had been severely beaten up

" what the hell happened? Where were you?" Piper said as she gently placed him into a nearby chair before then grabbing her stele out of her pocket so that she could trace the iratze on his arm to help him heal

" if I tell you, you promise not to get mad or to blame yourself?" Jace said knowing that she was going to blame herself for what Valentine did to him like she always did when something like this happened

" Jace, I think you better just tell her what happened now because it looks like someone used your face as a punching bag" Luke said sitting up slightly as he could tell that Piper was beginning to think the worse

" I used this to track Valentine down" he said dropping the Morgenstern ring into her hand as she realised that exactly what had happened to him as she looked down at the ring in disgust and shock

" you know what? I'll give you guys some space to talk but I'll be right there if you need me ok?"Luke said knowing that they were about to argue and fight but wanted to offer his support to Piper

" you tracked my father down? Why would you do that?" She said closing her hand around the ring as she got up and began to pace again as she wondered what her father had in store for her next

" why do you think? You, Piper! I went there because of you, because I love you" He said thinking about how she was before he had decided to track Valentine down before she had fallen asleep

" and I love you too which is why I am so unbelievably mad at you, he could have killed you... why didn't he kill you?" She said as the thought suddenly occurred to her that he should be dead

" what are you talking about? And why do you sound slightly disappointed that he didn't?" Jace said looking up at her as he decided to rest a little with the healing rune did as he tried to get a better look at her

" I'm not, you have no idea how happy I am that he didn't but I don't get it. My father is cruel and mean and I can't imagine that he would have liked you just turning up like that" she said thinking out loud
