When I woke up I found myself in bed, on the bottom bunk of the ones me and Peter were previously sharing. "I thought you wouldn't wake up." I looked over to Peter who sat playing with a gadget on his desk. "What's that?" I asked, sitting up and stretching, "nothing. How're you feeling?" He responded, stuffing it in his draw, before getting up and sitting beside me. "I'm ok. I'm sorry for barging in like that last night, I shouldn't have." I apologised.
"May didn't mind, she said you can stay for as long as you need." I looked towards my bag and saw it still unopened. "Could you get my phone for me?" I asked him, and he nodded quickly handing me the device. I clicked it on and saw at least three missed calls from each avenger plus another 17 from my dad and Happy. "I need to call home." Was all I said before walking towards the bathroom for some privacy.

I unlocked my phone and clicked on my dad's contact, "Riley." Came his voice from the other end, he sounded tired, like he hadn't had a minutes sleep. "Dad, have you slept?" I asked only worrying for him. "Yeah, a little." He paused and sighed, "I'm sorry. We want you to know, if you want, come home. We will give you as long as you need, as much space as you want." He stopped and a silence grew other us. "Dad, just. I don't know. I'll call you later, okay?" I hung up before anymore words could be exchanged, then I got changed and walked out.

"Everything alright Rie?" Peter asked handing me a plate of pancakes and a glass of water. "Yeah." I huffed in response avoiding any eye contact. I slowly crawled through the pancakes and stood, then I felt a hand on mine and Peter was dragging me towards the door. "What're you doing Parker?" I questioned as he started to put his shoes on. "I'm creating a distraction. Now hurry up and come on!" I put on my boots before letting him lead me out of the door and towards the train station.

"Where are you taking me Peter?" I asked and he shrugged. "Anywhere away from here." He replied walking up to the counter and coming back with two tickets. I looked at the location and rolled my eyes, "Manhattan, you just want to see the ex-avengers base?" I asked as we walked up the stairs to the platform. "No....maybe. I've never been, May doesn't like it since the alien attack." He explained and I nodded. "Let's just hope we can avoid anyone from school, taking a trip at the same time as us." I felt a sudden rush of wind as a train sped past and my ticket flew out of my hand, Peter hurriedly grabbed it. "Quick reactions, noted." I said as he handed it back to me. Then another train arrived, this time slowing down and letting us on.

We wandered towards the back and sat at a table. "So, about you singing, playing guitar?" Peter raised his eyebrows and I shoved his arm. "You find a guitar on this dammed train and I'll perform, but until then. Shut your trap Parker." I teased, then I saw a mischievous glint in his eye and he pointed across towards a man, on the seat beside him lay a guitar. "Don't you dare!" But I was too late, Peter was already up and asking to borrow it. "Thanks man." He said, bringing it back and handing it to me. "Fine! You win this time, but you owe me." I gave up as I stood and placed the strap over my shoulder, luckily it was a slow train so it wasn't hard to balance. I took a deep breath before placing my fingers on the strings, the music coming back to me in an instant.

"I just wanna run, hide it away..." the familiar words, me and Sally always said we'd run away together, start over in London. Live the British life is how she'd put it.

"Yeah! Go on Rie." Peter clapped and I realised several other passengers clapping as well. Peter placed his phone down and I realised he had filmed me, "thank you sir." I said handing the man back his guitar. He smiled before turning back to the window and allowing me to rejoin Peter. "You are amazing Riley Krats," he said taking my hand. "Thank you." I said and he shrugged. "For what?" He questioned.
"For that, it felt like I had a part of myself back. A part that was lost with a friend." I wiped a tear that fell from my eye and smiled at Peter. "Hey, don't cry. It's ok, just picture this train running over Flash, trust me it would be funny." He put the image in my head and I laughed hitting his hand, "who knew you were so dark Parker." I joked and he put on an evil voice and leaned over towards me, "come with me and be quiet about it child." He hissed and I laughed before pushing him back into the chair. "Dork." He rolled his eyes at my comment as the train came to a stop. "This is us," we stood up and walked off, I didn't realise we still held onto each other until I went to grab my phone from my pocket.
