I sighed as I sat on the rocks by the waterfall again, Wakanda was a beautiful place, but it wasn't my home. I jumped as Shuri placed her hand on my shoulder, "it's time." She said, and I nodded following her back towards the lab. Bucky had chosen to go back under.
When I entered, he was sat on a table talking to Steve. I walked over and wrapped my arm around him, the gesture being returned. "Look at us, a pair of one-armed, idiots, acting like we could actually hug." I joked making him laugh slightly. "Take care of him for me, yeah?" He asked, looking at Steve. "always, without you two I'd be in a much worse state right now." I promised, before walking over to Shuri who gave me an encouraging smile. Once Steve had said his goodbyes, I walked back over, jumping on his back, instantly falling back from the lack of arms, causing bucky to laugh. "Good luck with her, I'll see you both soon. Oh, and Riley?" Bucky said just before stepping in, "call your boyfriend." With that, he was shut in, closed his eyes, and fell asleep. A luxury to me now. "Goodnight uncle," I whispered, before walking out.
However, as I was walking I heard an alarm sounding, "T'Challa, we have an Unidentified ship...person hovering above our barrier." Shuri informed, I ran outside looking up, then down at my wrist. Sure enough, that thing in the sky was TUESDAY. I ran back inside, "let it in, it's mine." I confirmed, she looked at her brother, who nodded his permission. When she opened the barrier, the suit flew down, landing right in front of us. "What if it was followed?" Shuri asked, but I shook my head. "Trust me, my dad may have programmed TUESDAY, but I created the real her. She left that facility two days ago, laying low until she flew here. Just how we've always played it." I reassured, before walking outside.
I was going back to my 'spot' when Steve ran ahead of me. "What?" I asked, he just took my hand. "Come with me." He smiled, leading me along to the trees. "Why are we.." I didn't finish my question when Sam, Wanda, and Natasha appeared from behind the trees. "Hey Tinny." I smiled at Sam, running over and hugging him. "I never thought I'd be happy to see you, bird boy." I admitted, a tear falling from my eye as I turned and hugged both Natasha and Wanda. "How are you holding up sweetie?" Natasha asked, I sighed. "If I'm honest...I.." I shook my head, unable to form words that would describe how I felt.
My life was over.
"I need to go back, but I'm scared. I don't want to, but I know that there's only one person who can help me through this. Bucky was right." I sighed, Wanda nodded in agreement. "Go to him." That was all I needed to hear before I was running back towards the lab, running to my suit. I went to step in, but realised there was no way of me using my right arm. "Hey, Stark. Come with me, I have a gift." Shuri called, smiling as she led me to her weapons area.
She opened a case and I smiled at the sight, she had made me a new arm. It was grey, with blue lines throughout.
