4. I'm only human

Rosette was backstage in the arena doing breathing exercises while Jenny was getting ready to sing her best song Never Enough. Her family along with the Williams were apart of the large crowd of people whom were from Europe, the Queens gala, and some what New York too. And of course the only notice-able people in the crowd were the judging, rich people. Rosette wondered why P.T. didn't invite any 'below the radar' people. She also wondered where the circus acts were but she overheard a conversation that answered her question.

"What about everyone else?" Phillip asked P.T.

"Keep them in the way back where no one can see them." P.T. shrugged it off ignoring Phillips look.

Rosette furrowed her eyebrows, about to ask why but was cut off by P.T. running past her sending her a quick wink of gratitude and on the stage.

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for coming today. I am Phillip Taylor Barnum, the showman of the Barnum circus most of you must've heard of. The woman about to perform is, in my opinion, one of the best singers I've ever heard along with our next performer. Everyone please welcome Jenny Lind!" P.T. announced before walking off the stage.

Jenny smiled at the audience before beginning her song.

The crowd gave Jenny a standing ovation and Rosette clapped from backstage but furrowed her eyebrows at P.T. who Jenny looked back to. The gesture seemed a little to sweet for a man that was married and had kids. But either way Rosette pushed the thought in the back of her head.

Jenny walked off stage smiling at Rosette who smiled in return.

Rosette jumped feeling a hand on her back and quickly turned to see the hand belonged to Phillip. He smiled at her and she smiled back feeling light headed for some reason.

"Your next Rose. Think you can beat that?" Phillip asked her.

"No one can beat that Phil, she was amazing." Rosette sighed.

"I think your better. You'll be amazing Rose, you've performed in front of people before." Phillip said.

"Yeah but this time I have be the one amazing performance that closes the show." Rose chuckled.

Before Phillip could respond to her P.T. interrupted them grabbing Rosettes hand. Telling her that it was her turn.

"You ready to show me what your made of kid?" P.T. asked.

"I'm ready." Rose nodded.

P.T. pulled her to the middle of the stage and the audience quieted down upon seeing the next act who wore a black and dark maroon gown.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to introduce the next divine and extraordinary performer. Please welcome Rosette Johnson!"

Rosette looked around the crowd noticing Phillip in the back with the rest of P.T's circus members. Phillip gave her a small nod and a smile as the members smiled at her too.

Rosette breathed in before the music began and her song started.

Rosette took in a deep breath as her song ended and it seemed as if things were in slow motion as the audience all stood up throwing roses onto the stage and cheering. Rosette looked up to notice Phillip was gone but the circus members all were staring at her, some with tears in their eyes. This caused Rosette to smile at them and wave before she turned her head to see P.T. smiling at her with his mouth rarely agape. He closed his mouth and shook his head with a short laugh.

Rosette smiled at him and bowed to the crowd before making her way off the stage.

Because this chapter was short and then next part is apart of this scene but also separate at the same time I will be giving you another chapter either Wednesday or Thursday.
Luckily sense today was the beginning for quarter 3 for me and the ending of quarter 2 was nothing but tons of exams, my teachers are giving my classes and I a breather so that'll be a weight lifted off my chest.
