*The Forest*

The mages and the guard set foot on a journey to the town. Amidst the darkness of the forest and the night bring.
Both, Dream and Blue, were still quite weary of the other mage accompanying them.

Ink: Say, consider yourselves lucky. These parts of the forest are usually filled with thieves and killers. Noting you two are quite high value...
Dream: Wait! If there are thieves and killers out, why are we out?!
Blueberry: EXACTLY!
Ink: It's much easier during at night, and some people are almost quite reasonable around this time

Continuing the walk. The golden mage whispers an incantation under his breath.
A light golden glow started to shine in the mage's hand. Almost out-shining Ink's lantern with it's radiant beam.
Ink, on the other hand, paid no mind to the light. In his case, it was too bright for anyone's good.
The glow brought a high chance of them being found by blood-thirsty killers and greedy thieves.

Ink: Reduce the light of your spell. We'll be found before we could step foot into town!
Dream: Oh... Sorry! *whispers again and the light dims*
Blueberry: WHY ARE YOU SO WORRIED ABOUT THIEVES AND KILLER? DON'T YOU HAVE YOUR GUARDING BEASTS?
Ink: Yes, but they get slaughtered by those swines if they aren't careful in attacking...
Blueberry: OH RIGHT.

As the travelers made their way to the town. Unknown to them, a figure follows them from above hidden within the trees and the cover of darkness.
The figure stayed silent. Watching them intently. The figure smirked at her soon to be victims, unveiling her silver dagger, preparing to attack.

Ink:*stops*.....*murmurs a spell and grabs his dagger*...Someone's watching us...
Blueberry:*stops and gives Ink a questioning look* ARE YOU SURE IT'S NOT ONE OF YOUR BEAST?
Ink: All my creations are accounted for. This presence is not accounted for and it sides with being a threat....
Dream: Maybe it's just a misunderstanding?
Ink: I've lived here for years. People are either killed, stolen from, or spared out of pity or just plain lucky. It's no misunderstanding.
Blueberry: IF IT'S A THREAT *unveils his sword* I'M READY TO FIGHT
Ink: I'd suggest to dim your light some more... It'll make you an easy target...
Dream: Of course... *dims the glow of the incantation*

Though the forest echoed the sounds of wild beasts and minimal sounds of insects, Ink knew something else was there watching their every move.
The mage's suspicions were correct as cloaked figure followed their path. Hidden amidst the trees.
----------------------------------------------
Ink: We're nearing the town, we should hurry before whatever's following us gets us.
----------------------------------------------
The two nod and start to sprint, still keeping their guard up.
As for the mage they left, he summoned a beast to keep an eye on the two travelers.
The cloaked figure smirked leaping of the tree that hid her body. Eyeing the mage she wields her blade ready to dust the mage in front of her.
The mage's dust would be worth a huge amount of silver or gold.
Yet instead of showing fear, the mage also wields his dagger- ready to spill the blood of the attacker. And this isn't his first kill.
The two circle each other, intently eyeing their opponents movements. Wielding their blades with confidence, they charge.

Ink:*smirks* I was beginning to wonder when you'll attack, I thought I just had to slit your throat and get this over with but you have guts~
???:*growls* You won't have the shit-eating smirk once I dust you, you traitor!
Ink: Traitor? You're one to speak! You were banished!
???:*snarls and charges again* I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!
Ink:*dodges* Try a bit harder, you might just end up like you predecessors. Dead~

The mage's banter only enraged the cloaked mercenary even more. But who could blame her, banishment from her only home and to be taken away from her family somehow centered on the creator.
Swinging her blade onto the male's body getting lethal cuts and wounds here and there but that wasn't enough to completely discard the mage.
Ink had managed to get lethal wounds and cuts onto the female's body. But he needed to get rid of her without too much bloodshed or death. He made a promise after all, and he'd rather like to keep it.

???: Stop moving, you bastard! *quickly swinging her blade*
Ink: Why would I do such a thing? Wouldn't that make this battle a bit unfair?
???:*snarls* I've been paid good amount of fortune for the retrieval of your head!
Ink: So, you're a mercenary dressed as a pitiful thief? That's a laugh all in its self! *dodges and swings his dagger*
----------------------------------------------
As the two continue their battle, the mage and the guard had reached the luminous town.
This location was fairly new to them, and their so called 'guide' had disappeared. The two were lost... Well, not really.

Dream: Where do we go from here?
Blueberry: I... I don't know....
-----------------------------------------------
And done!
This was supposed to be the tavern part but that would some more time and writer's block really likes to hit me while doing these.
