Having decided to stay the night, everyone went to bed after eating. I had stayed up to re-fix what had been destroyed. I didn't have much else to do besides that and make sure that the others didn't embarrass us or do something stupid. I didn't know what I was going to do about Aang's decision to go to the Island in the Fire Nation. I had told him earlier that I would be the escape plan if the need ever arose.

I had just finished the last house when I saw Aang trying to leave without us. Sneaking up Appa's back with Nala we sat and waited for Katara and Sokka to notice Aang's absence from his bed. He argued and tugged on the Bison for some time before the two siblings heard the Bison's groaning and came out to see what was going on.

-

In the air most of the night, Aang pushed Appa to fly as fast as he could. I was looking over the side when I noticed a Fire Navy ship. It was the same one from the South Pole, so I knew it was Zuko and his Uncle. Tsking I frowned at the ship. "Aang we got company!" I shouted, "Yeah and it's gaining fast!" Sokka panicked. Hissing in annoyance, I grabbed a long rope and knotted it to Appa's saddle before also tying it to myself.

"Keep Appa steady!" I shouted to Aang. "Nala make sure I don't come loose okay, girl?" she barked at me and I jumped over the side and hung from the rope. Using my bending I kept the fireballs from hitting us and tried to tip the ship a bit. Seeing the blockade up ahead I growled. "Keep going! Don't stop!!" I shouted to Aang. "What are you doing?!" Katara shouted down to me. "Get out of sight!" I shouted at her and she pulled Sokka to the middle of the saddle and flattened themselves out of sight.

Using my bending again I moved the water into the biggest wave I could muster and parted the ships letting us through and knocking out many of their engines with all the water. Wetting everything that needed to be dry for fire attacks I had Nala pull me up. Licking me in greeting I smiled and scratched behind her ears. "Marius that was amazing." Sokka cheered and punched me in the arm, hissing in pain I looked to see a first degree graze burn.

"Ow, when the hell did that happen?" I hissed and looked closer at my arm. Katara touching it slightly made me hiss in pain again. "Ow, son of a--! Don't touch it." pulling her hands away she reached into one of the medical bags and wet the cloth before wrapping my arm. "That's better." I sighed as the water cooled down my hot skin.

-

Landing, Aang thanked Appa while I sat next to Nala and the giant Bison. Sokka was stretching and Katara rewrapped my arm. "Go before it's too late. I'll wait here." I told Katara as she looked to want to use my 'injury' as a way of putting this on hold. "But we can't leave you, someone could come and attack and your injured." standing up I shook her off, "I've gone through worse than this and besides Aang needs you and Sokka to go with him." sighing she gave up on arguing with me and left with Aang and Sokka.

-

It was almost sunset when I saw Zuko go past me. Following him, he snuck up behind Aang but I grabbed him before he could get Aang. "Aang go!" I shouted and he nodded and took off while Zuko struggled in my grip. "Relax Hot-Stuff I'll let you go in a second." I said into his ear and I felt him shiver. Smirking and raising my brow at that reaction I let go when Aang was inside and the doors were closed. Turning on me he glared, "Why are you always in my way?!" I stood with my hand out at my sides.

"It's where I'm meant to be in between you and Aang." I said as I moved towards him, his hands were up and he looked like he was going to burn me but he didn't Sokka, Katara and one of the Sages tied up the other ones so they were distracted and weren't paying attention to us as I walked Zuko into a dragon pillar. "What are you doing? That's too close." he said and shot fire at me but it sailed right past me and scorched the wall behind me. "What happened Zuko, we used to be friends."

I said bringing up our childhood together. "You used to visit it all the time with Iroh and your mom when we were kids, why did it change?" blasting another shot past me I continued my approach on him. "Stop!" sliding my finished pendant out of my pocket I hid it in my hand as I stood right in front of Zuko. "You know those fights we had over the last few weeks were hard for me." I said and leaned on the pillar. "Marius, we're going to move these Sages, be careful, Okay?" Sokka called.

"Okay." I called back and he and Katara left with the sages. "You got hurt?" Zuko asked his voice actually softer than I had heard in the longest time. "It was nothing, Zhao's aim is about as good as your mens' so I wasn't worried." reaching his hand out to my other arm the one with my tattoo he traced it slightly, "This is new." chuckling at the ticklish feeling I flinched a bit. "Yeah, I got it three years ago." taking his still outstretched hand I tucked the pendant into his palm.

"I'm probably going to have to tie you up." suddenly he shoved me and we were tucked behind one of the other pillars, coming in was Zhao and several of his men. "Zhao..." I growled out and pulled Zuko further back to hide us, "We can't be caught like this." I said and looked to Zuko. "So long as the others stay hidden they won't be in trouble. I need you to restrain me and it'll keep Zhao off your back." wide-eyed he didn't look happy about this plan. "What no way--" he started but I took the pendant and hooked it around his neck before tucking it into his chest plate.

"Don't worry about me, you can make it up to me later." sighing he nodded and pulled one of my arms behind my back and gripped my shoulder and shoved me into view. "Ow!" I growled under my breath and he rolled his eyes, "Ah, Banished Prince Zuko, and the Northern Water Tribe Prince, what a fine catch. He'll go well paired with the Avatar for Fire-Lord Ozai." Zuko chuckled and made me kneel and I tossed him a look but he had his amber gaze locked on Zhao.

"I wonder what the northern water tribe will do to get their prince back." I looked up a bit and scoffed. "Not much, I'm just as banished from my home as Zuko is from his." Zhao looked interested in this tidbit. "Oh, and why would you be kicked out?" he taunted. "Nothing that would ever concern you." tsking he glared before striking me across the face with the back of his hand. Zuko's hand on my shoulder and his hand gripping my forearm kept me from falling completely to the floor.

-

Zhao's men lined up in front of the doors to wait, while I was chained to a pillar with Zuko chained right alongside me, the tightness of the chains cut into my already blistering skin and opened more wounds and caused them to bleed. Hissing in pain slightly Zuko looked at me and frowned, I shook my head for him not to worry and he trusted me and turned back to the doors. When the doors opened we were nearly blinded by the bright white-blue light.

Zuko and I turned our heads to take in as little of it as possible. When Zhao's men unleashed their attacks they were met with Avatar Roku instead of Aang, he used the fire sent at him and used it to blast everyone back and to melt the chains around us. Zuko and I were blasted back and he landed on me, when the strong blast ended I looked at him, "You okay?" he nodded. "Marius!" Zuko looked at me as Roku was destroying the temple and I shoved him to go.

"I'll be fine, get out of here! Quickly." nodding he took off and Katara and the others rushed over to me and helped me up. "Why did you come back I thought you would be our escape plan." Aang said as he was being held up by Katara. "I got bored waiting. But we should get out now before the whole place collapses on us." Unable to leave via the stairs we were forced to go out the hole Aang/Roku made in the wall.

We were pleased to see Momo guiding Appa with Nala on his back to the rooftop, sliding off the building we landed on the Bison and we flew off.
