I'm holding on - Noel Gallagher

Chapter 2

"So...do you have anything planned for tonight then or are you just staying over?" Noel asked as he turned down the volume of the tv.

"Oh yeah, did Anaïs not tell you?" She hadn't told me to keep it a secret so I hope I'm not about to drop her in it.

"No...we had an argument and I don't think I'm forgiven yet"

"Ohh right, we're just going to this lad's party." I shrugged hoping I wouldn't get Naï in trouble.

He nodded but didn't look happy at all.

"I haven't got her into trouble, have I?"

"No course not, just make sure you're safe." I bit my lip just waiting for him to say something else, I could always tell when something was on his mind.

"Uh...do I know who's party it is or..."

"I think so, his name's Matt?" He looked at me blankly so I continued,
"The popular one that used to hang out with Naï and I?" He tensed at that, I guess they weren't the best of friends.

"The one who gets into trouble and does drugs? I nodded.

"Really? That's who you keep company with, Ad?" He sounded angry at that.

"You can't talk, he's really sweet and we don't really hang with him anymore anyway!" I argued trying to get him on our side and be ok with us going.

"Alright...I guess" he sighed sounding defeated

"Thanks Noel, Anaïs would kill me if she couldn't go"

I got up and hugged him tightly. He smelt like cigarettes and cologne, it was intoxicating. He grabbed me tightly too and we stayed there for a bit. As we parted we stopped and stared into each other's eyes, he started to lean closer making me feel faint. He came in closer and closer...

"HEY HONEY, I'M HOME!!!" Anaïs screamed in a laughing fit as the door slammed.

Me and Noel instantly jumped off each other and I went to the hallway greeting my best friend with a big squeeze. Noel came in and I felt so awkward.

"What's gone on here?" Naï questioned as she felt the tension in the room. I started to panic until she said...

"He's not been hassling you about the party, has he?"

"No... of course not!" I said too eagerly.

She gave me a curious stare,
"We were just arguing over Eastenders that's all." Noel quickly saved us and laughed to make it sound more believable.

"God you two and your soaps!" Naï said while she dragged me upstairs.

"We're gonna go get changed for the party, we'll be back down for tea in a bit!" She shouted when we were half way up the stairs. I took one last look at his mesmerising blue eyes before I was pulled into Anaïs' bedroom.
