CHAPTER 4
The next day I woke up feeling extremely sore. As much as I would love to stay in bed and get my rest, I decided against it. Knowing that my father will be home all day, gives him enough reason to beat me up again. At least when I get home later after school, It won't be as bad. But if I stay home, that means a whole day of abuse.
I quickly got up and started getting ready for school. Once I was done, I made my way downstairs towards the kitchen to make my so-called father his breakfast. Honestly, I don't know what to make him for breakfast. I was supposed to walk to the store last night but since he beat the crap out of me, there was no way I could've went.
I decided to just make him some scrambled eggs and his coffee. After I made his breakfast, I left the house to go to school.
I made my way towards the school grounds, I'm not surprised with the amount of stares I'm getting from the other students. They probably noticed my limping body. Honestly, I don't know how I made it to school in one piece. After my dad stepped on my back, I couldn't move. It hurts so badly that it almost felt like someone stabbed me.
Trying to ignore all the stares which in fact is almost impossible since, Mark and his friends are now approaching me.
"Hey loser! Did you do my homework?" he asked
Without a word from me, I quickly grabbed his homework from my backpack and gave it to him. I didn't even realized that Brandon was standing behind Mark until he spoke.
"Dude! Why are you having her do your schoolwork?" he asked Mark
"Ohh! Would just look at that! You found yourself a boyfriend Sarah!"
"Her name is Angela not Sarah you idiot!"
"Who cares about her name! And are you defending her? Come on Brandon, do you actually have a crush on this loser?"
Feeling my face heat up from the embarrassment. Do I really want to know his answer? In a way I do, a little part of me wish that somehow, he cares about me. But who am I kidding here?
"Her? Come on dude! I've got standards. Just leave her alone. She didn't do anything to you." he explained.
I don't know why, but what he said just made me want to cry. I thought in a way that he was somehow different from the others. Just yesterday, he was trying to be my friend. I knew it was all an act. Behind his nice, caring facade is a guy who only cares about himself.
