CHAPTER 18
BRANDON'S P.O.V.
It's been a month since Angela moved in with me. And one month since she was released from the hospital. Everything is going good so far, everyday I would try and help her bring her memory back by telling her stories that her brother Patrick tells me.
Patrick decided to head back home to Atlanta where he and his wife lives. Everyday he talks to Angela and she would update him about her condition.
LIttle by little she already started remembering things, I'm just dreading for her memory to completely come back. One month of her staying with me I can honestly say that I am slowly falling for her. If she was really my fiancee, I would probably the be happiest man alive.
The Angela a month ago is completely different from the Angela now. The Angela now smiles alot, makes silly and lame jokes, she laughs alot, the kind of Angela that I'm falling for.
Her dad is still nowere to be found. The police had already put him on Criminal's Most Wanted list. Apparently he's got a few other things on him already. I just wish they find him soon.
School's been great as well. It was a bit hard to adjust at first since I had to find a way to make things work. Since everyone from school knew that I was a new student, so it made it a little bit easier. All I had to do was tell them that I knew Angela before and had already been dating her for a while. I know it was a lame story but I had to think of something since I didn't want her finding out about the truth behind us being engaged.
I know I should've told her the truth when I had the chance but it's too late for that now.
ANGELA'S P.O.V.
It's been a month since I was hospitalized. And it's been one of the best one month of my life. No abusive father around, no more repeats of the night I was raped, and I am very happy to have Brendan and his mom by my side. They might not be my real family but during the past month I've learned to love them like my own family.
About a couple of weeks ago, I have fully regained my memory. Brendan still doesn't know anything about it. All he thinks is that I am slowly regaining my memory back.I know I should've told him, but I can't. I don't know how and when to begin telling him that I've had my memory back since two weeks ago. In a way, I was bit disappointed at him for lying to me but in a way, I'm kind of happy that he never left my side. He acted like the real fiancee that he's supposed to be.
Within those past weeks I have learned to love him like. I know he lied but I also believe that he had his reasons for doing it. Never once that he complained about thanking care of me, I've also learned so many things about him. He's such a loving son to his mom, I feel abit jealous at times whenever I see how close he is to his mom. That sometimes I wish I still have my mom to care for me like the way Carmen cares for Brandon.
We are currently sitting at the cafeteria table eating our lunch. I was so much deep within my thoughts that I didn't even notice Brandon was talking to me.
"Earth to Angela! Earth to Angela!" he said while waving his hands on my face.
"Huh? Sorry! What where you saying?" I asked him.
"Never mind! You were spacing out again. Are you sure you're okay babe?"
"Yeah, I'm okay! It's nothing really!" I assured him.
I looked at the not too far table and saw James smirking at me. I knew what he's thinking. He probably thinks that I planned this all along. I made a mental note to talk to James today after school. I just had to find a way to get around it without Brandon finding out.I took my cell phone from my pocket and quickly texted him.
A: 'Meet me at the back of the school after school. We need to talk.'
Not even a minute later I received a reply.
J: Yeah we do! See you later!'
I was about to put my phone back inside my bag when Brandon spoke.
"Who were you texting?" he asked
Shit!
"Uh, my-my brother. Just checking to see how he's doing." I lied then I quickly shoved my phone back inside my bag.
"So, how is he doing? Is he coming to visit soon?"
"Uh, no. But anyway, I you don't have to wait for me after school. I have a project that I need to research for at the library today. Not sure how long it'll take. But I'll call you after so you can pick me up."
"Okay, but I'll miss you though!" he teased
I had the urged of rolling my eyes at him.
"It'll only going to be for a couple of hours."
