I slammed my front door and ran up the stairs.

"Alessandra?" my mother called.

I didn't respond. That went horribly. What a douchebag! How dare he act like that? Who the hell did he think he was?

****** Shawn's POV ******

What the hell?

"I really don't think she knew who you were," Aaliyah said.

"I think you're right, sis. Crap, I really blew it, didn't I?"

"Probably. She was so pretty. Now, you'll have to see her every day 'cause she moved next door," she said cheerfully before running back inside.

Shit. She was breathtakingly beautiful. How could I be so arrogant? This never would have happened a year ago. Believe it or not, fame was changing me. I wasn't going to let that happen.

I ran next door and rang the doorbell.

"Hello" a young woman greeted. "Who might you be?"

"A terrible neighbor who seems to have forced your daughter into the solitude of this house," I replied.

"Well, you don't seem so bad to me. Come on in. Oh, you must be Carol's son! Shawn, right?"

"Yes ma'am."

"I was hoping Alessandra would meet you. I take it she did. Hold on, let me get her really quick."

She ran up the stairs and knocked on a door. After a few minutes, Alessandra came down unhappilly with her mother closely trailing behind.

"Hello," she growled.

"Listen, I'm truly sorry about before. Really, I am."

"What were you talking about before? About fangirls?" she asked.

I watched her mother leave the room and I began to tell her the truth when I stopped. This is too precious. She didn't know who I am. I could be a normal guy with her. She wouldn't drool over me or anything. She could like me for me.

"Don't worry about it. A lot of girls show up at my door trying to sell me cookies," I lied.

"So, naturally, you keep your shirt off in case one of them does," she replied.

I laughed and said, "Of course. One day a beautiful girl might show up and tell you off. You gotta pull out the big guns then."

She blushed and I said, "as an apology, do you want to come over? A few friends are coming and I'd love it if they met the neighbor, you know, in case they ever need to borrow sugar or something."

"Oh, it's very important to know who you're borrowing sugar from," she joked.

"Glad you see it my way, Ms. America."

As we walked back over to my house, she asked, "are you going to Ontario High?"

'Yeah, are you?"

"Yeah. It'd be nice to know someone there."

"Well, what are neighbors for!" I exclaimed.

As we entered the house, I took Aaliyah by the arm and told her the plan, "we're not telling her I'm vine famous, k?"

"Why not?" she asked.

"'Cause this is probably the only girl in the world who can truly treat me like an equal. I'm not giving that up."

"But, you're lying to her."

"Aaliya, please," I begged.

"Anything for you, big bro. Just make sure it doesn't bite you in the butt. Oh, and tell the boys. They should be here in 3-2-1"
