****** SHAWN'S POV********

Woah, what was happening to me? Why was I so jealous? I have an amazing, hot, caring girlfriend. Why am I so concerned with my neighbor?

Jack J stormed in after me and tapped me on the shoulder. Thank god Aria wasn't in this class with us.

"Dude what the hell was that? You know I wanted to be alone with her tonight," Jack said angrily.

"Dude I have no idea. I'm so sorry. The guys will come over to my house and you can just go on over to her's. If something goes wrong, you guys can join us at my house. Deal?"

He smiled and said, "deal. Thanks man."

Then added, "but seriously if you do that to any one of us again, someone's gonna be less understanding. Just a warning not a threat."

"I got it, bro. Thanks."

Phew, that was close.

After third period, it was lunch time. Aria and Juliet were seated at the table directly in the middle of the cafeteria. Juliet was starving herself again, and Aria was eating a slice of cheese pizza. Juliet was laughing so hard everyone was staring. She definitely like the attention, but Aria didn't seem to notice. Aria was so down to earth... Shawn! Stop it!

"Hey guys!" I said as I sat down.

"Hey Shawn!" Juliet exclaimed and Aria smiled.

Soon after, Matt and Carter joined us. Matt took the seat next to Aria and put his arm around her.

"How are you, my sweet?" he asked.

"I'm not your sweet, Matt," she said with a smile as she took his arm off her shoulder.

"Hey, you'll always be my sweet, princess," he replied.

She blushed and Carter gave him a thumbs up.

"So, Aria, we haven't spoken much, you know, just the two of us," Carter said.

"Maybe cause all you want to do is get in her pants," I blurted.

Soon my face turned red, and I looked down at my pizza. Carter gave me a weird look and said, "woah, bro. Not cool."

"I know. Sorry. I didn't mean it, Aria," I apologized.

"It's, uh, okay, I guess," she mumbled.

Soon, the Jacks, Nash, and Taylor appeared.

"Ayo!" Taylor screamed.

Soon the table became so crowded that everyone was uncomfortably close, well, except for Matt who loved to be so close to Aria. We were also the loudest table in the room. I didn't like that everyone kept staring at us, but I figured it was because we were so loud.

"Uh, I'm going to get some air," Aria said, standing up.

"I'll come," I said, but she interrupted me and said politely, "no I'd just like to be alone, thanks."

The guys looked at each other and Juliet stared at me.

"Alright," I said putting my hands up defensively.

***** ARIA'S POV*****

I walked away from the crowded lunch room and wandered outside. I sat down on the football field alone and laid down. I stared at the light blue sky and started to think. I thought about Chicago, Artemis, and Chad. Had Chad moved on already? We had dated for so long. How could he have moved on already? Then, I started thinking. I had moved on, why couldn't he? Sure, I still loved him, but it was time to let go of the past. It was time to move forward.

"Hey, stranger," a male voice behind me said.

I jolted up and spun around. Cameron stood behind me.

"I know you said you wanted space, but would you mind if I joined you?"

Relief. YES I WANTED YOU TO JOIN ME!

"Uh, sure, if you want," I said nonchalantly.

"Can I be frank with you?" he asked.

"Honestly, I would really like that," I said with a smile.

"I think you're a beautiful human being," he said with a half smile.

"Oh, no, but thank you. I think you are pretty beautiful though."

"Ha, no way. You think so?"

"Half the school thinks so," I retorted. "All of the girls stare at you wherever you go."

"I don't care what those girls think. I care what you think though," he said sweetly.

He is so smooth! So beautiful. So caring. So sweet. So perfect.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because I like you," he confessed.

"What?" I said in disbelief.

"I like you a lot," he said as he put his hand over mine.

"Cam, we just met yesterday," I said, pulling my hand away.

"Yeah, but it doesn't change the way I feel."

"Cam, I want to remain friends," I said standing up.

"Well, that's a first. Girls don't really say no to me," he said with a shocked expression on his face.

"Yeah, that's the point. I don't want to be a number to you. I'll tell you what. If you still feel the way you say you do in one week, I'll go on a real date with you. Deal?" I said, extending my hand.

"How do I know you're not hustling me?" he said half jokingly.

"I never lie. Ever."

His face fell and he looked away.

Feeling suspicous, I said, "and I don't befriend liars. So, I don't associate with them. Liars are the worst thing this beautiful world has to offer."

He turned towards me and looked me in the eyes. His dark brown eyes captivated me, and it took all of my willpower not to kiss him.

"I've lied before," he said softly.

I gave him a long stare and said softly, "well, you've never lied to me. That's all I care about."

His expression changed to one of longing and pity. I could tell he was holding something back, but it was up to him to tell me. I couldn't make him change.

"Deal," he said as he grabbed my hand and shook it.

When the hand shake was over though, he didn't let go. I didn't pull away either. The back of his left hand  grazed my left cheek, and I closed my eyes, soaking in this perfect moment.

"You don't know how badly I want to kiss you right now," he whispered.

I opened my eyes and stared at his perfect lips, then back into his eyes.

"But I'll wait, just for you," he said as he let go of my hand and turned away.

He walked slowly away from the football field leaving me alone watching after him.
