We stepped into the hall and i heard Ruby get called elsewhere.

"Sorry. I have to go. Talk to you next time!" Ruby stated as I nodded and went to find a place.

"Hey wait! Where am I going to find another quirky girl to talk to..." Jaune muttered and suddenly panicked before running over to me, "U-Um. I dont supposed you mind I followed you right?"

"Not at all." I answered as the speech began. I saw Ozpin stepped onto the stage and we soon met eyes. He gave a small smile as I sighed in response.

"Ahem... I'll... Keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge. To hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy." Ozpin announced.

"That's a bit mean..." Jaune stated.

"He isn't one to beat around the bush. Knowing him, he has some grand announcement to prove his point." I stated in reply.

"In need of purpose, direction." Ozpin continued, "You assume knowledge will free you of this but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step."

Professor Goodwitch took the mic as Ozpin walked off and soon stated, "You will gather in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed."

"Hm. He seemed off." I mentioned, "Almost as if he wasn't even there."

I saw Jaune walk to Ruby and the others before suddenly saying , "I'm a natural blond , you know!"

I sighed at his antics before a red haired girl came up to me.

"Hello there." She greeted me.

"Hello." I replied in return before she held a hand out to me.

"Pyrrha Nikos." She introduced herself.

"Ray. I dont have a last name." I replied as I shook her hand in return. She is a seasoned veteran in combat. I can tell. We had a small conversation before we ended up walking together to the ballroom. I set up my sleeping bag as she did the same before we went our seperate ways to get ready for bed.

I grabbed the spare clothes that Ozpin had gotten me and I saw it was plain black pants and a grey button up shirt.  I got changed when Jaune suddenly came out in his onesie and started chatting to me. I brushed my teeth as he told me about how its his first time sleeping like this with everyone and I finished out before chuckling slightly.

We walked about together and I saw most of the guys without their shirts on.

"What is this? Do they normally try to show off as much skin as possible?" I questioned.

"Well you didn't exactly button up either." Jaune pointed out.

"At least Im still wearing a shirt. Give me a break, my hair is wet." I stated as I soon buttoned up.

"Yea right." Jauned teased and snicker as I scowled, "Hey look at that, Ruby's sister is checking us out."

Jaune posed as I looked over to see her slightly disappointed.

"I couldn't tell they were siblings." I stated as I kept walked and Jaune stumbled to keep pace with me.

"Not all siblings have to look the same." Jaune stated.

"I guess I should note that." I replied as I sat down at my sleeping bag. Jaune ended up putting his beside mine. I noticed the commotion over at Ruby's side and mentioned we should sleep before it gets rowdier.

"Good call." Jaune stated as Pyrrha came back and sat besides me.

"Off to sleep?" She asked and I nodded.

"Better before it gets too rowdy." I said.

"Why hello there." Jaune started and I sighed before laying down on my sleeping bag, "The name is Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue. Ladies love it."

"Good night." I called out as I feigned sleeping. I didn't need it... I don't think I needed it. I haven't needed it since I had came here but I guess I needed to act human. I frowned as the noise got louder but I managed to somehow sleep.

"Why does it seem that I'm getting closer but it seems so far away?"

"Because you aren't trying!"

"I am!"

"Don't feign that ignorance Ray!"

"I'm not!"

"Prove it."
