"So Professor Ozpin, shall we begin our chat?" I asked as he placed a cup before me, I gingerly picked it up and observed the liquid inside.
"Tea." Ozpin stated as I hummed in response, watching the steam rise from it, "Do you know anything else other than what you told me?"
"Not at all." I replied as I took a sip, it was hot and slightly bitter but it didnt faze me at all. It was calming... Almost reassuring. I sighed as I continued, "The only thing I know of myself os that I am a so called Natara. I don't know why I am here or how I came to be but all I do know is that this... Salem person... She had a plan that included me."
"I see. They didn't let a bit of information loose did they?" Ozpin asked hopefully.
"I wish that were the case." I answered with a sigh, "It would be so much easier to be done with everything."
"May I question how you said you just... hatched... but you seem to know much about everything? Including our language?" Ozpin continued as he too was now sitting down.
"Visions." I said as my gaze was locked onto my reflection in the tea, "In the egg, all I could see and hear was a strange voice. It spoke of a world I never understood. As it spoke to me, I realized I was learning from it. As I picked up on it, the voice slowly faded and here I am."
"How would you like to join Beacon?" He suddenly questioned, catching me off guard.
"Me? Join Beacon?" I asked and looked to him as he nodded calmly, "I don't think I would belong here. You said you trained Huntsmen and Huntresses... Right?"
I observed him as his form was completely relaxed. His calming aura was deceiving... Was he more dangerous than I realized?
Nonetheless I continued when he made no move to reply, "I may be considered as a so called Grimm. Would you be hunting me?"
"Nonsense. You are far more refined then an average Grimm. You have more human qualities than a mere Grimm." Ozpin replied.
"It does not excuse the fact I am one of them." I answered.
"Anyone can be a Huntsman and Huntress. All it takes is initiative." He told me as we locked eyes, neither refusing to stand down in our stance.
I can't read his intentions... His motives... Nonetheless I could tell he wont change his mind so easily. I sighed as I leaned back and closed my eyes, giving in first.
"I can try. It is not like I have anywhere else I can go." I replied reluctantly.
"Brilliant. I will be teaching you the basics and afterwards you can join the new Huntsmen and Huntresses for their examination into Beacon." Ozpin explained as I nodded, "Any questions before we begin?"
"None." I answered and he nodded.
"And what should I call you by?" He asked as I thought about it.
"Ray." I answered.
"Very well. I'll send for someone to show you to your room for now and we can begin training tomorrow." Ozpin stated.
"I see." I muttered, was I overthinking this..?
I got up and mentioned going to explore the building for now and he waved his hand dismissively, allowing me to do as I wished. I left the room and looked about, the corridor was simple yet it gave a grand feeling to it. I let myself wander as I took in the surroundings. I liked it here. Peaceful not to mention beautiful architectural integrity and design. It would be a shame if this place would ever fall.
"Nothing lasts forever. In due time. Everything will fall."
I frowned at that thought. Where have I heard it before..?
"Humans are our subjects. If they do not learn their place then we must place them where they belong!"
"B-But I don't want to hurt them..!"
I shook my head slightly as I stepped outside. The sun was high above me as the sky was clear with almost little to no clouds. I walked to the fountain and peered into the water before letting out a sigh. What was I doing here?
"Ray, was it?" I heard a voice call out and looked back to see a middle-aged woman that has very light-blonde hair tied back in a bun with a curl hanging down the right side of her face. Her eyes are bright green and she wears thin ovular glasses, I noticed that she has dangling teal earrings that match the hanging pendant on her collar.
She wears a white long-sleeved, pleated top that has a wide keyhole neckline and gauntlet cuffs that flare in pleats at the wrist. Her lower body is covered by a black high-waisted pencil skirt with bronze buttons and black-brown stockings.
She wears black boots with bronze heels, and a cape that is purple inside and black on the outside. The cut of the cape is stylized to end in flames and arrows, with a row of diamond-shaped bronze beads on the back.
"Are you done staring?" She asked sternly.
"Sorry. I'm not used to... Humans." I said and looked away slightly.
"I will let it slide for now. I was told by Professor Ozpin that you will need a guide for Beacon. My name is Glynda Goodwitch and I am the Combat Instructor for Beacon." She introduced herself, "Let us not delay, I have a tight schedule today. Follow me and I will show you around."
I followed her when she suddenly turned back and told me, "Refrain from hurting the students here as well. I heard Ozpin has taken you in but do not think I trust you just yet."
I raised my hands to show I meant no harm as she turned back and kept walking.
I guess I cant expect to be well liked by a Huntress who sole purpose is to kill things like me...
