"So... I can go into Vale?" I asked and Ozpin nodded.

"Since the festival is happening, it would be a good chance for you to learn about the history of Vale. This festival can show you the different cultures." Ozpin explained as I nodded, "Try not to cause too much trouble though."

I nodded as I left, I could go to Vale... I guess I could explore.

I made my way to the ship which would take me to Vale before getting on. I stared out the window as I watched the take off. No matter how many times I see this, I can never get tired of the view.

"U-Um..." I heard someone call out and looked over to see Velvet.

"Ah... How are you Velvet?" I asked and she looked away for a moment.

"I'm fine. But... I realized I never got your name from last time." She stated and I realized I never gave my name either.

"I'm Ray." I introduced myself, holding a hand out.

"Thank you for helping me last time Ray." She said as she shook my hand.

"Anytime. So what are you doing on this ship? Heading to Vale to see the festival?" I asked and she nodded.

"I'm here with my team." She stated.

"Ah. I must be holding you up. Sorry about that." I stated as she shook her head.

"No! I mean... We wont mind if you hung out with us or amything." She stated.

"Ah... I guess I dont mind company." I stated as she nodded cheerfully.

"Thats great! I'll introduce you to them!" She said as she lead me to her group, "This is team CFVY. Coco, the team leader."

"Nice to meet you, heard from Velvet about what you did." The teenage girl with fair skin, short dark-brown hair, and dark-brown eyes stated. She has wavy locks on one side of her face, dyed with a gradient that starts in dark brown and transitions to caramel.

"Fox."

"Hey there." A teenage boy with dark skin and dark, messy copper hair that has a long fringe and a cowlick said wih a wave.

"And Yatsu!"

"Hello!" A a tall and athletic-looking young man with shaved-short black hair and tanned skin, wearing mostly pale-green and brown attire called out with a grin.

"Nice to meet you all. I'm Ray." I introduced myself.

"I heard plenty about you from Velvet." Coco told me and I chuckled slightly.

"I hope nothing bad." I said with a small smile as Coco shook her head.

"All good things I assure you." Coco stated as I nodded. I heard the airship was about to land and I had small conversations with Team CFVY. How they were holding up in class, their opinions on different subjects, the weapons they prefer even.

We walked along as I looked about Vale. They were setting up for the festival and it looked a bit bland, I was hoping to find more things placed up but nonetheless, the team work to set everything up was amazing.

"So Ray, what did you visit Vale for?" Velvet asked me.

"Ozpin said I should see the culture here. So I ended up visiting." I mentioned.

"Are you not from Vale?" She asked.

"You can say that. " I said as I saw Ruby walking with a strange girl, "Isn't that ruby?"

"It seems so." Velvet stated as the girl with Ruby looked over. I thought I saw a spark before I noticed the sword come out from her.

"U-Um..." I muttered as I stepped back and she charged at me.

"Penny wait!"

I pulled out my blade and knocked one of her swords back but several more appeared. I managed to barely dodge each one, afew nicking me and causing small scars to appear. I saw the weird black substance on her blades as I kept my distance. I noticed the others didn't see the black blood I had, thankfully my clothes were already baggy and had long sleeves.

"I am combat ready!" The girl stated as I tensed, slightly unnerved by her.

"What are you doing?!" Velvet shouted as the rest of her team got their weapons out now.

"The safety of humans is my priority." The girl stated and attacked me again.

"I-I don't want to hurt them!" I answered as I dodged her blades before getting away from her, "I don't want to hurt anyone!"

"A soulless being like you are a threat." Penny stated, or so Ruby had called her, "All beings without souls must be eliminated."

It was almost as if...

"Ray!"

I saw the blades coming right at me but I didn't have time to dodge it. It stabbed me in the abdomen and forced me back. The rest of the blades had made several large scars across my chest and arms. I fell to my knees as I tried to remove the blade but it doesn't seem to budge.

"You have no soul. No aura. who will save you now?" Penny asked, mechanical. I saw the blood on her blades turn to ash soon enough and the blood dripping from me soon did the same as I healed.

"Get away from him!" Velvet yelled as I saw a giant hammer slam down inbetween me and Penny, seperating us. The sword forcefully ripped out of me and went to Penny's side.

I took a look at the wounds which was slowly recovering.

"Why do you protect him?" Penny questioned.

"He's my friend!" Velvet yelled as the rest of team CFVY stood before me as well while Ruby tried to stop Penny.

"Penny. He's our friend." Ruby said softly as Penny reluctantly kept her weapons.

"If Ruby says so then I will oblige. " Penny stated as I stood up, wounds already healed.

"I... was not expecting to be attacked." I muttered as Ruby apologised.

"Are you okay?" Coco asked, "You took quite a blow."

"It's fine." I said wih a small smile, "I heal quickly."

"Still... We should have it checked." Yatsu said and I assured them it was fine.

"I'll see you around Ruby." I told her as Team CFVY and I continued to look around.

"Are yoh sure you're okay?" Velvet asked worriedly.

"I'm fine. Trust in my healing capabilities." I stated and she reluctantly nodded, "Lets see what's set up, alright?"

The team nodded as we went on our way.

She knew I wasn't human with a mere glance. She saw I apparently had no soul, no aura... What was she?
