"We need to slow it down!" Ruby stated.

"On it." I stated as I dashed forward, clones appearing to either sides as I kept him occupied.

"Stop moving you little rat!" I heard him say from inside.

"Rat? Ahaha... Sorry." I said as I cut off its arm, "I don't think a rat can suit a being like me."

I flipped back as Ruby fired her gun through Weiss' glyphs for the bullets to turn into ice. Yang and Blake were finally done as Blake swung her ribbon at the robot, effectively swinging Yang who held onto it. Soon, Yang punched the robot and with the momentum built up, the robot shatered to pieces.

"I just got this cleaned!" He stated as Yang fired a shot at roman for a girl to suddenly get in the way with an umbrella.

I ran forward, blade at the ready as I attacked the girl. She kept a confident face as I kept an emotionless one.

"Well then. Girls. Whatever you are. Its been a pleasure." Roman stated as my blade was pressed against her umbrella, "Neo. If you would."

I striked and she smirked as I saw a spark before they shattered. I frowned as I saw them on the airship and flying off.

"Ah... So close." I muttered as I kept my weapon, "We should head back now."

They nodded to me as we all rush back to Beacon.

When we arrived, I said my farewell before heading to my room. I thought I felt someone's eyes on my back but I forced myself to ignore it. I entered my room and sighed as I laid on my bed.  I looked at the time to see it was pretty late now, I should try sleeping again. Just for time to pass quicker. I closed my eyes and let my mind wander and before I knew it, it was morning.

I wonder if all humans have such empty nights... Or perhaps its simply because I am not human.

Days went by until the day we were told we had combat training so I got dressed in my normal outfit for fighting before I headed to class. I sat besides Blake as Pyrrha was fighting Team CRDL. I watched as she easily and gracefully beat all of them and I clapped at her performance.

"Alright, now I know that's a tough act to follow but we have time for one more sparring match. Any volunteers?" Professor Goodwitch asked before looking at Blake, "Miss Belladonna? You have been rather docile for the past few classes. Why don't you-"

"I'll do it." I heard an unfamiliar voice call and looked back to see strangers.

"Have they always been here?" I asked Blake quietly.

"Students from another school." She stated and I nodded.

"Mercury is it? Very well. Let's find you an opponent." Professor Goodwitch stated.

"I wonder who he'll pick." I muttered.

"Actually. I wanna fight him." I heard Mercury say and looked back to see him pointing at me.

"Me? I'm... Not much of a fighter..." I stated.

"Alright then." Professor Goodwitch stated.

"Beat his ass!" Yang yelled cheerfully.

"I really dont-"

"Its just a practice match. You'll do fine." Weiss said and Ruby gave a thumbs up. I frowned and sighed before standing up.

"Alright." I reluctantly agreed and pulled out my blade before observing it. I jumped down where Pyrrha was and we gave each other a high five.

"Good luck." She told me.

"I'm gonna need it..." I said nervously.

"Try to restrain yourself Ray." Professor Goodwitch told me.

"I know I know." I said as he faced me. I kept my eye on my blade, reflecting it so I could keep an eye on him as well.

"You're a defensive type huh?" Mercury said and suddenly charged.

"I suppose so." I said as I raised my blade just in time for him to try and kick. I heard the sound of metal clashing and my eyes went to his boots. Metal?

I jumped back as some force came out of his boots and pushed him back as well. Propellers?

I readied my blade and charged as he smirked. He kept using kicks to block my attacks so I made myself faster. I made sure to keep myself moving and unpredictable. I saw him tracking my movements. He wasn't a student...

I activated my semblance and it created a clone behind him which tripped him and before he could get up, i had my blade at his neck.

"You aren't a student." I told him, curiously staring at him, "You have the experience of a fighter. How strange."

I stepped back as Professor Goodwitch gave me the win. I kept my blade as the bell rang and I eyed Mercury one last time before going to Ruby and the others.

"Remember. The dance is this weekend and your first mission is on monday. I will not accept any excuses." Professor Goodwitch stated as I exited the room while talking to Pyrrha.

"I'm telling you. I have a bad feeling about him." I said as she hummed.

"Maybe it will pass. He seemed like an ordinary student." She said.

"I suppose so..." I muttered, "But I have such a bad feeling..."

"Well maybe we should spar to get our worried off." Pyrrha suggested.

"Beating Cardin wasn't enough was it?" I asked and she simply smiled, "Alright. I could go for more practice."

We went to the courtyard and pulled out our weapons. We gave a friendly smile before focusing. We were enemies. No more. No less.

We charged, dancing death's dance. Our blades intertwined in a deadly play while our bodies left our instincts to control. I felt a gaze on us but I focused on one thing.

This was a battle for the ages between the goldren warrior and the beast of salem.
