Chapter 3: Meet Me My Prince

"WHAAAT?" I winced as Sabrina's shriek echoed throughout the hallway. I pulled my hoodie tighter as I tried to be invisible from people's stares.

I scolded her.

"Sabi na eh, summer loving!" she grinned in a deranged manner.

Bigla tuloy akong nahiya," I murmured as I felt my cheeks heat up.

"Girl, nililigawan - hindi pa girlfriend or asawa. Kaya pa yang palitan" she said with an evil smirk. I rolled my eyes at her ridiculous idea.

"Utang na loob Sab, shut up!" iritado kong sagot. I fiddled with the zipper of my hoodie as I stole glances at the people passing through. Most of the guys were checking out Sab in her mini denim skirt that showcased her beautifully toned legs. Nobody paid much attention to me in my jeans, white hoodie and oversized backpack.

"Aya pwede bang tanggalin mo yang hoodie mo. Ang init kaya, taga-disyerto ka ba?" Sab pulled the hood off and I blushed.

"Sorry, force of habit" I mumbled as I unzipped the jacket. Sanay lang talaga ako sa pagsuot ng long sleeves all the time kasi nga my dreaded allergies have pestered me for so long.

"Girl seriously, you need a wardrobe change. Ano ba yung lahat ng damit mo pang-manang? Napagkakamalan tuloy minsan na anak mo ako"

I winced at the memory. One time sa mall magkasama kami ni Sab and somebody remarked na ang ganda daw ng anak ko. Like what the freak? I'm only eighteen for crying out loud!

"Halika nga dito, I'll fix your hair." Sab pulled me inside the empty classroom and brought out all her kikay stuff. She hummed softly to herself as she deftly divided my hair into sections and applied something to tame out the frizz.

"When's the last time you visited the salon? Gosh ang haba na nang buhok mo, you should definitely get a haircut soon. Gusto mo sabay tayo sa Saturday?" she pulled some of the strands together to create a cute style na mukhang pang K-pop.

"Sure, sunduin kita ng 10am." I smiled up at her.

"Ayan, o di kita na yung face mo. Nakakainis nga yang balat mo eh, parang pang-commercial ng Ponds. May gahd, palitan na si Julia Baretto at talong-talo mo yun." she remarked and I laughed disbelievingly.

I shuddered at the disturbing memory of my stalker for two years.

"Oh man, don't say bad words Sab. Baka mamaya biglang sumulpot yun bigla dito. Saka I think he was obsessed with me because I am an otaku."

"Loka, otaku rin kami ni Kiko pero hindi niya kami hinabol-habol" she poked me on the head with a hairbrush.

I laughed referring to her ex-boyfriend in high school who was a six-footer.
