It's been a week or so since Obito died, I've been sleeping for about an hour or two a night and even then I still get nightmares about the past, what makes it worse is now I'm reliving some of Obito's memories as well which is only solidifying what he said before he died. *"Please do the right thing and let them...let her go.... You and I both know it would be better off that way.."* Those words keep replaying in my head over and over again. * I don't want to do it; I like my friends, I love Ruby..but...what happened to Mom, the Village, I can't have it happen to them, I can't have who eyes these truly are be revealed, or Ruby will be heartbroken.* I'm snapped out of my thought when I hear the scoreboard beep signaling the match that was done. I'm in Ms. Goodwitch's class, and Pyrrha just defeated Cardin and his team, it was child's play for her.
Cardin, his team, and Pyrrha get out of the arena, and Ms. Goodwitch looks around.
Ms. Goodwitch: Alright, now I know that's a tough act to follow, but we have time for one more sparring match. Any volunteers? Ah Mr. L/n you haven't fought much in the past few classes why don't you fight?
I shrug and teleport to the arena.
Ms. Goodwitch: Okay now who would like to spar with Mr. L/n?
I sigh a bit. Lee being my rival and everything is who I usually spar with, with the exception of my friends from time to time. But sadly Lee is sick or something today, and his team is watching over him. No one volunteers but then a hand goes up.
Mercury: I'll do it.
Ms. Goodwitch: Mercury, is it? Very well get into the arena.
Mercury strides to the arena and stares me down with a smirk on his face. I smile a bit getting a funny idea. I make a fake wince noise and grab my foot. Ms. Goodwitch noticing this.
Ms. Goodwitch: Are you okay Mr. L/n?
I look directly at Mercury.
Y/n: Yeah I'm okay my foot just hurts a bit but its nothing.
Mercury obviously understanding my jab at him scowls at me and takes a stance. Ms. Goodwitch oblivious to this starts the match.
Ms. Goodwitch: Ready....Start!!
I start to move but Mercury out speeds me and attacks with a barrage of kicks * How is he faster than me....? No he isn't faster I'm slower, the lack of sleep is getting to me...* I try to match his kickboxing, but due to my fatigue, I'm falling behind. For the next few minutes, all I can do is defend and maybe get a counterattack in. After that I look at the scoreboard, Mercury is still in the green while I'm in the yellow close to red. Mercury then gets a solid kick on me and send me to the ground, and he walks towards me speaking quietly so I could only hear.
Mercury: I have no idea why Obito lost to you, I knew he was a weakling and a waste of life, just like you...
I jump up and push Mercury back and process what I just heard *He knew..? But if he knew then he's working for....* I don't have time to finish the thought Mercury let loose another barrage of kick, but this time he hits my face, and I hear a clicking noise. Mercury shot a round out of his boots I then hear a cracking noise, and I go flying back. I now notice my glasses have a crack in them; I look up to see Mercury gloating and taking bows.
Mercury: Hahaha! This is so easy! I thought this fight would be hard! Guess that make's sense for someone like you.
I start to growl, but Mercury continues.
