(Volume 3) Chapter 16: Aware of Priorities

After my fight, the Tournament went into high gear. I watched a multitude of incredible 4 vs. 4 fights. Then after a few other matches, it was time for Team Rwby to fight. I'm embarrassed to admit, but when they were fighting, I cheered a lot louder than any normal person would. After watching their amazing fight, I look at the time to see it was getting close to lunch, so I thought *Why not* I teleport back to the stands and booths at the fair part of the festival and walk around looking for something to eat. I walk around for a bit with little to no luck, but something catches my eye. I see Team Rwby and as I head over to say hi I freeze as I see who they're with. I see Ruby talking with Emerald with Mercury nearby. My once happy face twist into one of determination and rage. I quickly dart closer and closer to them until Emerald spots me. She hastily says bye to Ruby, grabs Mercury and bolt into the crowd. As I'm pursuing them, Team Rwby turns around and sees me, and Ruby attempts to approach me.

Ruby: Oh hi Y/n! I was wondering if you'd want to get lun-

I bolt right past her in pursuit of Emerald and Mercury I refuse to let them escape.*Just one..if I can get one of them I can stop their plans for good and prevent a disaster.* I look among the crowd of people trying to spot Emerald or Mercury. I try to sense their aura's but due to how many people are around its difficult to pinpoint them.* Dammit dammit DAMMIT* I look around more frantically until I spot Emerald in the distance. I throw sneakily and discreetly out the window and just teleport right next to her and attempt to grab her but as I was now closer, Emerald looked a little..blurry. I curse at myself.*This has to be one of her illusions but where is she!* I teleport back to where I was and look around getting more and more frantic* Shit, Shit, Shit! I need to find them one of them! But where did they go!?* I start to get worked up, but eventually, I sigh in defeat.*I lost them....dammit* I teleport back to the noodle stand and take a seat at the counter, and plop my head onto the counter and an old man zooms in front of me.

Y/n: I'll take the regular with as much beef you're allowed to give me.

The old man nods and goes back to the kitchen as I keep head down annoyed about losing Emerald and Mercury. Then I feel a tap on my shoulder and I sluggish lift my head to see Ruby looking at me with concern.

Ruby: Hey...mind if I sit with you?

I shrug and plop my head back down as Ruby takes a seat next to me. After a bit of sulking my food arrives, and I look up at it and hand the old man the lien. After so the old man looks to Ruby.

Ruby: Oh I'm good.

The old man nods and zooms off to most likely tend to other customers. I look to Ruby.

Y/n: Petals..you sure your not hungry? If you want I can pay for the food?

Ruby sheepishly shakes her head.

Ruby: I'm okay I'm really not that hung-

Ruby is then interrupted by her stomach which is clearly thinking otherwise. Ruby rubs the back of her head in embarrassment. A small smile appears on my face, and I slide the bowl of noodles between us.

Y/n: Here we can share, take it as an apology for earlier....

Ruby goes to protest, but her stomach growls once more stopping whatever she was about to say, with that, we started to eat. I mainly picked at the beef while letting Ruby eat most of our lunch, but eventually, I begin to eat the noodles and as I'm eating my mind starts to wonder.*Hmm Ruby's still interacting with me, so she still doesn't remember what happened that night but how much does she remember? It's not like I can just ask her "Hey Petals do you remember when I revealed I killed your mother and because of my actions destroyed your family as well? What you don't that's great let's go on a date or something!"*
