(Volume 5) Chapter 30: An Eyekaward Reunion

Y/n P.O.V

Here I am. On the floor of my room, hanging my head in shame.

Y/n: I can't..I can't face them. I-

*Knock Knock.

I hear a knock at my door. I slowly get up from it and go to open it, but I stop myself. I sigh and take a few steps back and call out.

Y/n: Yes?

No one responds, but the knocking continues. I shake my head sighing having had this happen before and I go open the door.

Y/n: Nora. I'm really not in the mood to play knock knock let the blind man guess who it is and-

Weiss: Hello Y/n.

I pause, and I feel the color drain from my face as I realize it was Weiss as I opened the door. I take a shaken breathe and slowly respond.

Y/n: Hello Weiss.

An awkward silence soon follows. Until Weiss decides to clear it and break the ice.

Weiss: Ruby said dinner is ready and she would like you to join us.

I go to say something but stop only thinking about it. *Yeah but you and Yang wouldn't want me to join.* I shake my head.

Y/n: No its okay. You all go catch up and enjoy yourselves. I'll be resting in my room.

I go to close the door, but I hear Weiss stop it with her foot. I go to ask why she was stopping me and she quickly hugs me.

Taken aback at Weiss of all people doing this I lift my arms up and back, and after a few more awkward seconds Weiss lets go.

Weiss: It's nice to see you again Y/n.

I smile a bit feeling slightly relieved.

Y/n: Likewise.

Weiss: Now let us depart.I...I would also like if you joined us for dinner, and I think Yang would think the same.

I nod giving in. After tracing the walls and with Weiss leading we make it to the dining room. Everyone's making small talk and laughing about things. Weiss leads me over to what I can tell is the end of the table. With Ruby to my immediate right and Yang to the left. As I sit, Ruby says to me.

Ruby: I set everything up for you.

I nod and thank her, and I slowly start to eat. Surprisingly it's not that difficult to eat blind, but it did take some getting used too. As everyone is talking and Jaune is telling everyone about their adventures, Yang laughs at Jaune saying.

Yang: How do you lose your map at a time like that?

Jaune sighs.

Jaune: Believe me, I've asked myself the same thing ever since.

Everyone laughs while Jaune joins in sheepishly. Nora trying to lift his spirits a bit says aloud.

Nora: Hey, but you made up for it, Mister Muscles! You shoulda seen this guy take a giant Grimm head on!

Jaune most likely feeling a bit embarrassed exclaims.

Jaune: I couldn't have done it without Ruby wearing it down.
