- Andrew's POV -
"Sammy, when did you call the police?" I asked, frowning.
"When you were in the shower." She replied, taking a sip from the mug of coffee in her hands.
"Why?"
"We can't do this alone, Andrew." She sighed.
"We only want to help." One of the officers said. I turned to see face the one that spoke. He was a young-ish officer, probably around late 20's, early 30's. He had dark brown hair, flopping over his hazel coloured eyes.
"Who are you?" I asked rudely, glaring at him.
"I'm Officer Morgan, I will be helping you find Alex-Marie." He introduced himself. "And this is my partner, Officer Brown." He gestured to his partner. I glared at him too, noting how he was the complete opposite to his partner. Officer Brown was older, around 50, with thin greying hair, matching his grey eyes.
"Well, we don't need your help." I snapped.
"Andr-" Sammy started, but I interrupted.
"No, Sammy. I will find them myself." I growled, storming from the room.
"Andrew!" Sammy called after me, but I ignored her, continuing on my way.
I walked for what seemed like hours, but was actually only a few minutes. I looked up from the ground to see I was at the park.
The park where they were taken.
"Ugh!" I growled, kicking up the gravel that surrounded my feet on the floor.
Walking over to the closest tree, I slid down it, sitting at the base of the trunk with my head in my hands.
- Alex's POV -
"MICHAEL!" I screamed, tears streaming down my face. "Michael!"
"Will somebody shut her up?" A voice called from below me, sounding pissed. I shrunk back into the wall as the sound of footsteps echoed through the room.
A few minutes later, a guy I'd never seen before walked into the room, carrying Elena in one arm, with a small ruck-sack over his other shoulder.
"Alex?" He asked, closing the door gently. I nodded. "I'm Seth, I'm here to help you get out of here." He whispered, placing Elena in the crib and untying the ropes around my wrists and ankles.
"B-but, why?" I whimpered, rubbing my wrists.
"Because this isn't right. I've been seeing what they've been doing to you, and I can't stand it anymore."
"How are we going to get out?" I asked, accepting his hand as he pulled me to my feet.
"Well, I put some sleeping pills in all their drinks, so they're going to be out for a while." He smirked, picking the bag back up from the floor.
I simply nodded and walked over to Elena, gently scooping her up from the crib.
"You ready?" He asked, peering out through the door, with one hand out-stretched towards me.
"As I'll ever be." I murmured, placing my hand gently in his.
He lightly squeezed my hand, before pulling the door open fully and leaning his head to check if anyone was watching.
"Now, listen, I can't take you home straight away, that's the first place he'll look, so we will have to hide out for a little while." He explained, looking me dead in the eye.
"Okay." I smiled weakly.
"You alright with that?"
"As long as she gets home safe, I'm fine." I replied, nodding down at Elena, who was fast asleep in my arms.
"Okay, let's go." He gently tugged on my hand, pulling me out of the room behind him.
We tip-toed down the hallway, trying to not make too much noise.
"Shh." He whispered, peering into a room at the end of the hall.
"Who's room was that?" I asked, gripping his hand harder.
"Michael's." He replied, re-adjusting the bag on his shoulder.
"Oh." I mumbled.
"Now, just keep quiet and follow me. Stay close." I nodded.
We continued on our way, still on tip-toes. I kept close to Seth's back, his hand still gripping mine.
"Okay, when I tell you to, run."
"Why?"
Instead of replying, he nodded to an open door, loud voices coming through the door.
"Oh."
"Ready?" I nodded. "1...2...3!" He let go of my hand, and gently pushed me towards the door, whilst he distracted the two guys that emerged from the room.
I didn't stop until I was around the corner, hidden behind a brick building, out of sight. Catching my breath, I tried to be as quiet as I could, but my beating heart wasn't helping me calm down.
Loud, fast foot-falls echoed through the area, making my heartbeat pick up again. I pressed my body into the wall, bringing Elena closer to my chest, and held my breath.
"Alex?" Seth's panicked voice whispered.
"Seth?" I replied, moving slightly away from the wall.
"Come on." He reached out for my hand again. I placed my hand in his once more and let him drag me away from the building. He pulled me through a set of huge steel gates, and towards a small black car at the end of the road.
"Wha..?" I muttered, letting go of Seth's hand.
"Pass Elena here, just get in." He demanded. I handed my daughter over to him, letting him place her in the car seat in the back of the car.
Once he was finished strapping her in, he climbed into the drivers seat.
"Let's get you out of here."
