Nathan's POV:
I finally have my sister back! The only thing that could make this better would be if I had a mate to share my happiness with. Since I'm 19, I've been waiting 3 years to find her, and I'm close to giving up. That's when it hit me. The most beautiful scent ever. It smelled of mint and lavender, a strange, but surprisingly intoxicating scent.
I would not make the same mistake as Blake.
Sapphire's POV:
I was wandering aimlessly around the pack house because no one bothered to show me around. I picked up on Skyler's scent and began to follow it.
About halfway there, I stopped dead in my tracks. I smelled the best scent ever. It was like brownies fresh out of the oven.
I instantly knew it was my mate, so I followed it and ran into a rock hard chest. I felt the sparks everyone talks about. He looked into my eyes and it felt like time stopped.
"Hello little mate," he said, a smirk forming on his kissable lips. "What is your name?"
"Sapphire, what's yours?"
"Nathan." Suddenly, my whole opinion of him changed. He was not a good person. He abused my best friend for years on end, until she ran away.
"I-I can't do this," I said, tears filling my eyes as I turned and ran. I didn't get far before a muscular arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me back.
"What's wrong Sapphire?" he asked, a concerned look in his eyes.
"Y-you hurt my best friend for years! When she got to my pack, she was physically and mentally hurt! She had scars, but they weren't from any of you! She felt so worthless because of you that she began cutting herself," I finished with a sob.
He looked ashamed about it, and shocked at the last thing I said. Even though it broke my heart to do so, I turned around and walked to Skyler's room, and this time, he didn't stop me.
