Skyler's POV:

As usual, I woke up at 5:30, an hour before anyone else got up for school or work. I made them all breakfast and took some for myself, even though I technically want supposed to.

Today was my sixteenth birthday, the day I could possibly shift and find my mate. I hope I don't find my mate today, because that would mean he's in my pack.

I went upstairs to get ready and heard the others going down for breakfast, making comments like: "that bitch had better have breakfast" or "the scum better have her lazy ass out of bed". I know that would bother most people, but I was so used to it that I didn't care.

I went into my bathroom to brush my hair and put makeup over my bruise. I hurried downstairs, hoping they wouldn't notice me. No such luck.

"Hey bitch" Nathan said, "you better get your fat ass to school or else you'll be late. You don't want to face the punishment for that again, would you?"

"Bye," I said timidly before hurting out the door.

I hurried to school as fast as I could on my always injured legs and got to school with five minutes until the late bell.

I rushed into my English class for homeroom and could feel the glares from my pack mates. I paid attention to the lesson and left as soon as the bell rang and went to my next classes. I would tell you about it, but I don't want to torture you.

Next was lunch. I went to the line and bought my lunch as usual. I started heading to my table in the corner, when the most intoxicating smell ever reached my nose. I walked to the sourceof it and came gave to face with alpha Blake Adams.

"Mate."
