Rejected By the Alpha (On Hold)

Chapter 16

Skyler's POV:

I guess word had spread I was back, considering all the hateful glares I was getting. But because all of the death states I was getting were from females, I'm guessing it's because I've spent the entire day with Nathan,  who by the way, is a fully mated man.

"Nathan," I said looking up at my brother as I remembered the plan I made this morning. "I'm gonna go do something, I'll meet you back here in about an hour, okay?"

"Okay Sky, just be careful,"(I don't want to see a single comment about tfios) Nathan said, ruffling my hair. I did what any girl would do. I flipped him off as I walked away.

I headed back towards the pack house and began going to a place I never would have considered going to before.

The alpha's office.

It was simple getting there honestly. It was going in that was difficult. I stood outside the door for what seems like forever, trying to get the courage to knock. I finally decided just to man up and and do it.

"Come in," Blake said, his voice slightly muffled by the door.

I opened the door slowly and stepped into the office making sure to leave the door partly open.

"Blake, can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked, trying not to show how nervous I was.

Blake's head shot up from his papers, his eyes holding surprise. "Skyler?"

"Yeah, it's me. You got a second?" I asked hesitantly.

"Of course. Just sit down wherever, I guess," he said, obviously still shocked I was here.

I sat down and began speaking before I lost my nerve. "So this morning, I was thinking, and I realized that since I never accepted your rejection, the mate bond will eventually make me accept you," I paused for a moment to collect my thoughts. "I decided I'd rather forgive you myself than have the bond do it for me. You are far from forgiven, but I'll give you one chance. If you mess this up, I'm leaving, and this time, I won't come back."

"I swear you wont regret this Sky," Blake said, beaming. "I'll do whatever it takes to make you mine. Am I allowed to hug you?"

"Sure," I chuckled, standing up. He engulfed me in his arms and I was overwhelmed by his scent. I wrapped my arms around him, and felt him take a deep breath of my scent, probably to soothe his wolf. Words cannot describe how amazing this moment was.

Blake's POV:

I was shocked to say the least when Skyler came here. I just expected it to be a pack member, but it was my mate, and I couldn't be more happy with the outcome of her being here. She was actually giving me a chance.

We were currently laying on the couch in my office, talking about what had happened over the year she was gone. I could tell she was keeping something from me, but I'm not making her tell me anything she's not ready to tell me. I an happy enough just to be able to have her in my arms. I will not mess this up. I will love her like no other could, and I will never let her go.

"Sky?" I said, breaking the silence that had settled over us, "Will you go on a date with me?"

Mystery POV:

"Sir, the girl seems to have forgiven the alpha. They are going to dinner together tonight, and are getting along well," I said, my voice trembling.

"Then all is going exactly as planned. We will strike when the time is right. But for now, we wait," said the man who's presence strikes fear into my soul.
