Entry Two

I can't believe it's her. I was done with the whispers of girls, hollowed on the inside, pretty facade on the outside, too much like my mother. She's different, full of life and energy, ready to fight. I'm going to choose her, there's no other way, it's not even really a choice.

Rosy and Sebastian both seem to like her which is good, it would've been harder if they didn't. I'm not sure Father will approve of her but that doesn't matter. It's not his choice.

I talked to one of the people in charge of her evaluation, they said they put her in the number fifty spot because it was the highest ranking of the girls. They said that she was absolutely brilliant when she was speaking, they said that the two things that leapt out the most about her was her drive to do something and her compassion. They also said that she'd hoped to find love if she'd been chosen.

I had the notes they took on her faxed as well as the Arabic proficiency test. I'm excited to read them, get to see who she is a little bit more. She seemed to say everything that I wanted to hear, wanting to do more than nothing, making a difference.

I hope she's right about the possibility of finding love, I'm not really sure what love is or how it feels, it was always vacant from my home. I've heard that love swirls around people, leaves them grasping, clouds them, they become so consumed, they break.

I want that.

I open my eyes to someone banging on the door. I groan and look at the clock, it's almost seven. I grumble and stand up before opening it. "What?"

"We're going to play tennis. I brought you clothes and coffee and a few pastries." Eloisa says and I stare at her for a second before I open the door and let her in. "Nice place." She says surveying the room.

"Thanks, it wasn't really up to me." I say and she smiles before handing me a mug of coffee and a pastry. I sit on the bed and she joins me, eating a pastry. "So why are we playing tennis?" I ask after a few minutes when the coffee's kicked in.

"Because it will be fun and I think it will take your mind off of this." She says brightly and gestures around.

"You, see the thing is that I'm not super stressed out about it, Alaric can choose me if he wants and if he doesn't, that's great too. I'll probably go to Med school." I say and she smiles, sipping her coffee.

"Well, how about I caught my boyfriend fucking some slut. One of the sluts from the bitches that are being considered by Alaric Reed." She says and squeezes the pastry in her hand. I laugh softly and grab her hand, unclenching it before she hurts herself.

"Okay, we can play tennis but I can't ganturee that I'm going to be good." I say and Eloisa smiles. She dusts her hands off and open the bag she has. She pulls out what looks like a tiny athletic skirt and low cut athletic tank top. I frown at Eloisa who shrugs and I notice she's wearing a similar outfit that seems a bit more conservative.

"I also brought you a pair of shoes. Go and get changed and then we're heading to the courts." She says.

"Isn't it a little weird for a Military Base to have tennis courts?" I ask and she shrugs.

"Maybe but it does. Go and change." she says an shoos me toward the door. I enter the bathroom and quickly change into the skirt and tank top. The tank top is fine maybe a little showy but my ass is hanging out of the skirt. I try tugging it down but it doesn't work. I sigh and brush my hair before putting it up in a ponytail. I brush my teeth and put lotion on before heading out of the bathroom.
