Entry Nine
I'm enjoying my time with Adabelle, it's been three weeks since the Selection. I'm comforted by her presence when I wake up. I like spending time with Adabelle and we're growing closer. My feeling are growing for her and I don't know what it's going to turn into.
Everytime I see Adabelle, my heart lurches. When she smiles it's infectious. When she's lost in thought, writing in her journal, I long to her know thoughts and what she's writing. Her eyes may be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
The green color is breathtaking, it's pure and bright and there are darker green tones that come out. I could stare into her eyes and never get sick of it.
I'm writing this before another meeting. It's been a strange day. I found a letter of resignation from Sebastian and I don't know why he'd resign. He's seems pretty normal, maybe a bit off . This seems really unusual and I can't figure out why.
I have this feeling that something bad is coming.
It's been a week since I started sleeping in the same bed as Alaric. It's nice; comfortable. I really like him, I don't know how to describe it. My hand trails over his chest and I feel him start to stir.
I look at Alaric and my hand traces his face, his dark eyelashes flutter and his gray eyes open. He smiles and pulls me closer, my head resting under his chin. My arms wrap around his chest and his hands trace patterns on my back.
"Hey," I say and look up at him, he smiles.
"Hey," he says and kisses my forehead. We stay like this for a few minutes before I stand up and Alaric sits up, his gray eyes still sleepy. I sit on the edge of the bed.
"I have to go to the Medical center," I say and Alaric nods. I walk out of his room and back into my room, I grab a dress and a new bra and panties. I change and brush my hair before I slip on heels and move to the bathroom.
I brush my teeth and walk down the hall to my room, I put on lotion and deodorant before I grab my backpack. I walk down the hall to Alaric's room and he's buttoning a white dress shirt. Rosy hops off his bed and brushes past me, going into the hall.
"Hey, I'm going to leave," I say and Alaric looks up.
" I'll walk you out," he says and I nod. He comes closer and we walk to the front door together, I stop and Alaric braces his hand against the wall behind me.
He lowers his head and kisses me, I lean into him and my arms wrap around his neck. His hands move and pull me closer, resting on my hips. The kiss is long and sweet and we break apart after a few minutes.
His forehead rests against mine. "Bye, Addy," he says and I smile. I bring my lips to his for a few moments before I turn away and start walking.
I adjust the strap on my backpack as the Base comes into view. I stop near the entrance and dig in my bag for my card. I push everything aside and I can't find it, I frown look through it again. I can't find it.
I think I left it at home. I sigh and push open the doors, I'm going to try to find Eloisa to see if she can give me her key. I think she has a key at least. I walk up to her office and she isn't there, I sigh and turn around moving down the hallway. Maybe she's in the kitchen or something.
I keep walking and end up near the kitchen. "Adabelle?" someone asks and I turn around..
"Sebastian," I say evenly even though my stomach is churning nervously. I smile as Sebastian comes closer, he seems less cheerful and I can't figure out why. He looks almost older and I don't know why.
