And everything changed just like that. As the smoke from the barrel of my gun swirled into oblivion disappearing into the death scented air my life forever changed. I stood here no longer Ivanya Kerverso, once orphaned child and thriving lawyer. No, I stood here as the Ivanya Kerverso Russian mafia queen ruthless enough to kill her own father, and in charge of my next move.
As the bodies of my victims laid lifeless in front of me I eyed my audience, the Italians. They glared at me I assume wondering if one of them would be my next target but I would never hurtthe Harper's. Well all but one was looking at me and that was Laney. She stood holding her glass of wine and wearing a crimson grin planted on her face. Pointing her glass up toward me she spoke. "Congratulations Ivy. You now own an Empire. Make wise choices."
I glanced around the room and wondered what this meant for us. Would we be considered enemies now? What should my next move be?" As if Laney was reading my mind she walked up to me. Her heels made a prominent sound against the marble floor creating an echo as she stopped in front of me. Removing my gun from my tight grip she assured me. "You have my word that my husband and son will help you with anything you need duiring this transition".
Turning to look at them she smiled hugely and took my hand and started to lead me away. "I'm taking Ivy to her estate. Send a team ahead to see if any of her father's men are there. They may not take kindly to having their leader killed by his daughter or having a new leader. Ivy's safety is first. Now smile boy's... we have a new alliance"
As Laney led me out I passed Demarco and his eye's looked empty as if I was a stranger. Once at my estate most of the men agreed to me as their leader. Well it's not like they had much of a choice. Demarco shot the first man that spoke out about it. That pretty much got the point across to the other's. I took my seat behind my father's desk and in moment's Cole had his code hacked and all of my father's secrets were revealed.
It released all of his dealings, deeds, and other locations owned. It also revealed that he murdered my own mother because he assumed she was having an affair with his then right hand man who was still chained up in the very basement of this house. As queen I made my first command. I ordered him to be set free and given medical treatment. Once he was well enough I would talk to him. He could very well have the answer to all my questions.
With the help of the Harper's we went through page after page of my father's secrets. By ten that night Laney insisted that I rest and we'd all get back to it in the morning with fresher mind's. I had my maids prepare the guest rooms all.
Once in my room I filled my tub up to the brim and sunk like the titantic right to the bottom. Due to the gruelling day, the stress of events I started crying. I cried as hard as I could but vowed I'd never cry about this day again. Stepping out I toweled my wrinkly skin off and pulled a plain white gown over my head that fell to my ankles. Keep in mind my clothes were purchased for me and I would never buy this granny gown of my own free will.
As I brushed the tangles from my hair I knew I had to speak to Demarco. Sliding into my satin slippers I padded toward the room appointed to him. As I passed by the Harper's room I heard Laney give a throaty moan followed by some very naughty word's to her husband. With my cheeks blazing red I kept going. When I reached Demarco's door I stood there just starring at it like a lost child. I didn't know what to expect from him. Should I knock or step on in. Deciding on the later I cracked the door open enough to peek my head in. To my horror I was met with his gun.
"Jesus Christ Ivy" he belted out while putting his gun away. "You can't just sneak up on me like that especially when I'm in a house full of your men who may or may not want to shed some Harper blood. The fuck you want?"
"Howdid you know I was out here?" I asked astonished.
Giving me his traditional smart ass smirk he spoke sarcastically. "Please with those big clompers of yours. It sounded like horse's on parade coming down the hall. Besides I spied your shadow underneath my door minutes ago".
