V
I woke up to the worst headache ever.
"You're awake?" I turned my head to see Joey standing in the doorway holding a tray of food.
I sat up and rubbed my head.
"Food!" I clapped as she placed the tray on my lap.
"This should cure your hangover."
"Hangover?" I stuffed the sandsmich in my mouth.
"Your headache."
"How'd you know my head was hurting?"
"That happens to everyone after they drink excessively."
"Oh," I drank some of the orange juice. I felt something pinch my arm. "Ow!" I pulled back the cover to find pincher showing off his red claws.
I gave him a piece of my sandsmich and he ran away with it in his claws.
"You should feel better in no time. Make sure you get some sleep," she headed towards the door.
"Joey!"
"Yeah?"
"... Um... C-- Can you sleep with me?"
"I can't."
"Why?"
"Ricardo and I are going on a date today and I have to get ready. I'm sure you'll do fine, by yourself."
"No. I'm gonna be here all alone?"
"Not really. Pincher will be here too."
"He doesn't count."
"Aww, that's not nice," she placed her hand on her hip.
"Doesn't matter. He doesn't have any ears."
"Well, we'll be back soon. Can you stay out of trouble until then?"
"I guess," I shrugged. "Can I watch the electronic mirror?"
"Hmm? Electronic... Mirror?"
"The television."
"Oh sure. You can do whatever you'd like. Just don't leave the house or make loud noise."
"Ok," I nodded.
I watched TV as Joey got ready for her and Ricardo's date. What would they even do on their date and why couldn't I go too?
"How do I look V?" Joey asked as she stepped out of her chamber a while later.
She wore a long piece of blue clothing that fanned out around her knees. She twirled around for me. "Do you like my dress?"
"Yes, you're beautiful-- I mean, it's beautiful."
"Thanks," she smiled.
Ricardo came down wearing all black. He took one look at Joey and smiled.
"You look good, mama."
"Thank you," she giggled as he pulled her into a yiss.
I turned back towards the television.
Talk about awkward.
Eventually, they both left. Leaving me behind.
I made a lot of sandsmiches and watched cartoons. Pincher tried stealing most of my food but I caught him before he could get away.
I kept thinking about Joey and what she was doing. I wish that I was there with her. I actually wish a lot of things, but none of them come true. Maybe I should wish on a star, only those kind of wishes become true.
Later on, I heard an animal at the door. I knew it was an animal because it kept calling me by saying, Meow.
I opened the door to find an orange tabby cat.
"Sunny!" I beamed as I bent down to pick him up. "You found me! How have you been doing?"
"Meow," he swiped at my nose.
"Really? That's great. Would you like to come in?"
"Meow."
I brought him inside and gave him some milk out of Joey's favorite bowl. Hopefully, she wouldn't mind.
Pincher seemed envious and went to hide under the couch.
"Don't get jealous Pinchy, I still love you too." I picked up one of the many sandsmiches I made and held it out to him. "Would you like a bite?"
He poked his head out and scrambled to snatch the food out of my hand and run back under the sofa. "Aw, you're so cute."
Sunny finished his milk and made his home on the back of the sofa.
"Enjoy your nap, Sunny. I yissed his ear."
I looked under the sofa but saw nothing but Pincher's shiny black beady eyes. "Enjoy your sandsmich, Pincher."
