Get A Job!

Brian woke up one morning to the sound of an ear-piercing crying noise that was ringing through the house. " What the hell is that? " he groaned aloud. The noise was so loud it woke up his canine wife Ellie. " Must be one of the kids, " she muttered, recognizing the sound. " Can you get that? " Brian sighed. " Yeah, yeah, I've got it. " He climbed out of bed and went down the hall to the kids bedroom. 

A few minutes later, the noise quieted down, and Brian came back. " What was that all about? " Ellie asked, still half asleep. " Oh, apparently the kids had a nightmare that we lost all our money and went poor and we had to sell the house. All the other kids were crying because he was crying. " Brian was hoping Ellie wouldn't turn it into a big deal, but snapped awake. " Why would they be dreaming about that? What the hell are they watching on TV? " Brian shrugged. " I don't know. Probably harmless stuff like Paw Patrol, or Peppa Pig- although of course, that show did teach kids in India to get themselves eaten by spiders. "

Ellie sighed. " Brian, sometimes I think maybe it's time one of us got a job. I mean, we can't just live off of your families payments. " Brian took that in. " Well, which one of us did you have in mind? " he asked. " Well, maybe we could start with just one of us, and then see how that goes. " Brian gulped. " Uh... okay, uh, who do you think that should be? " Ellie thought about it, and then smiled at Brian. Oh crap, he thought.

A few days later, Brian found himself standing in front of a mirror, making sure that his suit was on right. " God, Ellie, I'm really nervous. You know, landing a job at the Stop 'N Shop isn't easy. Plus its pretty far away. " he said. " Relax, honey. I'm sure you'll do great! " she assured him, and she kissed him and practically shoved him out the door. At the Stop 'N Shop, Brian met the manager Daniel. " Alright, Brian, what are your good qualities? " he asked. Brian thought about it. " Well, I've died and come back to life before. "

Needless to say, Brian didn't get the job, but when he came back home, Ellie had exciting news. " I just applied for a job at a new perfume store that just opened in town. " Brian was excited. " Oh thank God. I can't believe I went job-hunting this whole time and you were too! " Ellie just winked, and said " I didn't. " and went into the kitchen to get lunch ready. Brian just stared, his boner slowly growing.

The next morning, Brian woke up early and saw the bed was empty. He heard a noise, and rolled over and saw Ellie getting dressed. " Hey, where the hell are you going? " he asked. " What does it look like, silly? I'm going to the job interview. " Ellie explained. " I'll be back later. You'll look after the puppies, right? " Brian sighed. " Yeah, I guess. Good luck. " 

During breakfast, Ellie burst into the house excitedly. " Woo-hoo! I did it! " she cried. " I got the job! " Brian couldn't believe it. " Really? That's great! " he turned to the kids. " It looks like now you can stop keeping us up all night with your nightmares! " The puppies cheered and slurped down their cereal.

That night, Ellie told Brian more about the job as they were getting ready for bed. " So the place is called Jewlers, and it's a really fancy place, and most of their employees have to dress up every day. " she explained. " Well in that case, you probably don't have to wear a thing. " Brian chuckled. " Oh, actually, I don't have to. They told me that, since I'm already beautiful. Speaking of which... wanna fool around? " Brian smiled. He couldn't say no to his beautiful wife.

The next morning, while Brian was watching TV with the pups, holding an ice pack over his head from his hangover, Ellie found out when she started working. " Next week. " she told Brian. " Guess your gonna be looking after the puppies on weekdays for a while now, huh Brian? " Brian looked up at her. " Relax, babe. If I can handle your beautiful anus, I can handle anything. " Ellie rolled her eyes. Next week was her first day at her new job. When she came back, she was full of excitement. " It was awesome. " she said to Brian after dinner. " All my co-workers were nice, the whole place was nice, and my boss was nice, too. " she said. 

" Well, I'm glad to hear your having fun. " Brian said. " Meanwhile, I'm still a jobless deadbeat who has to take care of four nightmare puppies every day. " Brian said. " Oh come on now, Brian, I'm sure it's not that bad. " Ellie assured him. " Seriously, Ellie, they were screaming and laughing the whole day. I couldn't take it anymore. " Brian said. " Well, if you got a job, there wouldn't be anybody to look after those 'nightmare puppies'. " Ellie pointed out.

Brian sighed. " Yeah, sorry, I guess your right. " Later in bed, Ellie was sound asleep, and Brian was going through the mail on his phone when he found a message from Daniel, the Stop 'N Shop manager. Hey Brian, I went over your résumé, and I must say, I'm very impressed. If you come back to my office on Saturday, I may consider hiring you. 

" YES! " Brian yelled at the top of his lungs. Ellie was jolted awake. " For Christ's sake, can't a girl go a goddamn week without any night-time interruptions? " she groaned. " Ellie, your never gonna believe it! I just got a text from the manager of the Stop 'N Shop, and they want to give me a second chance! " Brian's tail was wagging with excitement. " Oh my god, Brian, that's great! " Ellie cried. " But... who's gonna look after the puppies while we're at work? " Brian thought about it. 

The next day, Stewie was watching TV at the Griffins in Quahog when Brian walked in. " Brian? What the hell are you doing here? You don't just barge in, that's rude! " Stewie scolded him. " Stewie, listen; you know how Ellie got a job? Well, I've got one now, here in town and, well, we sort of need someone to look after the puppies. " Brian was expecting Stewie to say no and spray him, but to his suprise, he simply said. " Okay. You don't have to be a dramatic dick about it. "

On Brian's first day of work, Stewie did come over. " You sure you know how to look after them? " Brian asked. " For God sakes, man, I've been over before, remember! And besides, I once raised my own kids, didn't I? " Brian smiled, knowing he could trust his friend, and Stewie pushed him out the door before Brian could remember exactly what happened to those kids.
