Kaoru’s POV

The sound of the shower head from across the room had stopped as I lay in bed looking at this old dingy bear that Bri loves so much. So much that she leaves it everywhere. One of his ears has a tare, his fur is all netted and bunchy and Bri said he use to laugh. He doesn’t do anything now but look old and grimy. I guess these things happening when your holding on to something as tight as Bri held on to him for ten years. But she held for good reason, I can’t even imagine Hikaru bouncing in and out of my life as much as Mike has.

Hikaru walked out of the bathroom with the same pajama bottoms as me, shirtless and rubbing his hair with a towel. Things like this make all the girls go crazy, at home it just makes me roll my eyes at him. I brought my attention back to the bear I was now tuning in my hands.

“Aw… you miss her already?” Hikaru said in an annoying voice as he sat down on the bed looking at me.

“Shut up!” I said as I kicked him in the thigh.

“Why do you have that anyways?” He laughed.

I shrugged a little, “Bri left him, and Haruhi was already gone when I saw it. Someone had to grab him; Bri would go crazy if she lost this!”

“Why?”

“Mike gave him to her,” I said as I still examined the bear.

Hikaru’s gaze fell to the bear and after a moment of hesitation he asked, “How do you think she’s holding up without it.”

“Without him?” I pointed to the bear again, “She should be fine. She’s on her way to the real thing. Bri keeps Mr. Giggles with her because she can’t keep Mike with her; she’ll have Mike so I’m sure she’ll be fine.”

It was silent and Hikaru just kind of looked at me, like he was trying to read me. God I hate it when he does that because… “You didn’t want her to leave uh?” He always gives it right.

I shrugged.

“Kaoru?”

“Hikaru?”

“Kaoru just answer; quit wasting time you know I’ll get you to talk somehow!”

I let out a sigh knowing he was right again, I not sure if it’s a twin thing or just a bother thing but sometimes this really sucks!

“No I didn’t… Not yet at least. You know Mom and Dad are coming tomorrow and I know Bri would love to meet Mom. And you know how they are there’s no telling when she’ll come back!” I said trying to stay calm.

“When who’ll be back, Mom or Bri?”

When I didn’t answer Hikaru put that smug smile on his face and I tried to block it with Mr. Giggles.

“She’s going to come back,” He said in an assuring tone.

I snapped the bear out of the way to look at him and said, “Of course she’s coming back!” That was louder than what I wanted it to be, and not so convincing.

“You sure?” Hikaru asked smiling down at me.

“Of course. I have collateral,” I waved Mr. Giggles in the air.

Hikaru’s smile started fading a bit, “Do you really think that’s the only reason she’ll come back?”

“Well she worked really hard on the scholarship so I don’t think she’ll give that up so easily either.”

“A teddy bear and a scholarship are the only things keeping her here away from family? You sure there’s nothing else?” He looked at me with a frown and a shrugged again.

He shook him head with a sigh then eye’s shot back to me with a hard glare, “Now tell me the real reason you didn’t want her to go!”

It took awhile for me to even realize why I didn’t want her to leave so I sat there in silence with Hikaru staring me down.

“Kaoru!”

“She might reconsider!” I spat out in a bunch.

“Reconsider what?”

“Being here, away from her family. What if she goes home and she loves it and its great and she starts to forget why she even left and… and she doesn’t come back. I mean is it really worth it… Are we really worth it?!” I was breathing deeply with Mr. Giggles hugged tightly in my arms.

Hikaru let out a little laugh and when I glared at him he said, “I don’t know if we’re all worth her coming back, but you defiantly are. Try not to forget that. Now put Mr. Giggles away I can only sleep with one other guy in my bed, okay.”

I put Mr. Giggles on my night stand and cut my lap out. I don’t know if it makes me a bad bother to not take love advice from Hikaru. Looking at his relationship status I don’t recommend anyone to. He’s the one who thought he loved the wrong girl, even though I’m the one that pushed him to act upon his feelings.
