“’I SAID I’M EASSSSSSSSY, EASY LIKE MONDAY MORRRRR….RRRNING!’” I sang loudly as we walked to school Monday morning.

Haruhi chuckled beside me, “I thought the song was Sunday morning?”

In replay I sang, “’Well I’m eassssssy, easy on Monday morrrrr….rrrning.”

“You are really that happy to be ungrounded?”

“YES!” I said excited before chanting, “Free at last, free at last. God all mighty I’m free at last!”

“What?”

I looked over at Haruhi ready to explain but once I saw her confused face I just said, “It was a slave thing. Do you guys study black history here?”

She shook her head, and I smiled, “Funny. Neither do we, last black history month I spent it learning about Hitler.”

She shook her head laughing as we made our way up to the school. When we got into the hall, I shook snow from my thick wavy hair. After I was done I fluffed it put with my fingers already knowing that there’s no way it’s going to lay down. The struggles of natural African American hair.

“You have too much hair,” Haruhi said while she was staring at me.

“I know…” I whined, “Do you want some? I would try to sell it but they would only use it to make clown wigs.”

Haruhi started to laugh and I smiled and started for class. When we got there Hikaru and Kaoru were talking but once they seen us they just sat down. Haruhi and I gave each other a glace then headed off to our seats. I placed my books on to my desk and looked over at Kaoru, “Good morning!” I smiled cheerfully.

“You’re in a good mood I see,” He smiled. “Let me guess, either you had a really good dream about me; or you’re no longer grounded?”

I let out a little phony chuckle, “Oh you think you’re that important. I have bigger and better things to dream about,” I teased.

“Really know how to crush a man’s spirits uh?”

I shrugged a little saying, “It’s a natural given talent.”

Class let out for break and Haruhi walked with me to orchestra. She didn’t say a word to Hikaru in class and I’m guessing she’s not planning to talking to him for the rest of the day. Too bad that that’s not a part of my plan. They will talk to each other I don’t care if I have to use force, which I’m sure I will.

I bided Haruhi goodbye and went into the rehearsal room, “YOU’RE-“

“Not late,” I said cutting off the conductor as I walked past him to get my violin. Once I got to my seat I smiled, “Hello,” to Ayanokoji.

She rolled her eyes and forced them forward so she didn’t have to look at me. I really don’t know what her problem is with me but I was taught that the best way to handle a problem is with kindness. I’m not really sure how far kindness will get me with this one though.

Our period was ending in ten minutes so we were to run on more song. Bach AT LAST! Mental fist pump!

The conductor glared down at me and grumpily said, “Miss McDonalds you’ll be taking the first solo, Miss Ayanokoji.” He now smiled down at her, “You’ll be taking the second one.”

“Why?!” She asked angrily. Before anyone could respond she went on, “Why does she get all the good parts? You don’t even like her! No one likes her; we just tolerate her because you told us to!”
