The plan

“My baby belongs at home!” My mother screamed through a live video chat.

“Mrs. Mac I understand your concern but I must say we have a steady case-“ The lawyer tried to explain before my mother interrupted.

“I don’t care about a stupid case I care about my baby!”

“Ray! If we pull her out now what’s to stop this from happening again with someone else?” My dad said sitting beside my mother.

“We did not sign our daughter up for the civil right movement of Japan! “

“But Mrs. Mac, Brianna is representing something so big. This can change everything! These spoiled rich children have been raised to think they can have everything they want, someone needs to show them that life doesn’t work that way.” Mr. H explained.

We all sat at a table with a screen showing showing my parents. Mr. and Mrs. H sat together across from their lawyer; I sat between Hikaru and Kaoru. I sat lifelessly as everyone around me debated my future; it’s only been two days and I haven’t said a word. What do you say to something like this, I want to go home but I don’t want to go anywhere. I want to stay here, I want to fight, I want to stay strong, I just don’t want to do it alone. Everyone keeps saying I’m not alone but it feels like it. People are constantly around me to ‘protect’ me from everyone but who’s going to protect me from me. My thoughts, my dreams, the places where I always feel most alone; where I always am alone.

“It’s not her job to prove a point! I want her home! Look at her,” I looked up at this as everyone looked me, “She looks sick, she want to come home she just doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. I know my baby, she can’t take this!”

“Yes I can,” I muttered but no one heard me.

My Dad sighed and looked to the camera, “Is there any way she can come home for a little while? Or how about this, we’re heading to France soon could we meet there?”

“We are not going anywhere! We are staying here and she is coming home!”

“Sur?” My dad said ignoring my mom.

“I’m afraid that if she leaves the county the whole case will be dropped.” The lawyer said as he shuffled through papers.

“What case?! You don’t even know who it was!” Mom shouted.

“We have a pretty good idea Mrs. Mac,” Hikaru said in a shaky voice.  This was the first time any of us have spoke, we’re like the kids who gets to sit at the grown table for the first time.

“And I we already know who started this all.” Kaoru said squeezing my hand a bit.

“Well then you don’t need Brianna to stay, bring her home!”

“I’m not going anywhere,” I said a little louder than before. The twins both looked at me, as the adults went on arguing over what I should and should not be doing.
