Valentine: The Birth of the Pheonix

Scene 3 "The ugly truth"

At Jack's bar, Adan sits at the bar counter with Tim sitting next to him. He looks over at Tim.

Adan Valentine- "You know what sucks? I can't get drunk, it doesn't matter how much I drink."

Tim Code- (Rolling his eyes) "You must be special."

Adan Valentine- "Hey you watch it. I'm still your boss."

Tim Code- "Why did you bring me to a bar Adan?"

Adan Valentine- "I don't know, I just wanted to have fun and hang out with my favorite bodyguard. (Looks around while shouting) Where are the girls at?"

Guys in the bar started cheering with excitement while a woman stands up and walks over to Adan. "Mr. Valentine?" She said as Adan looks at her. "My name is Destiny Style." Adan checks her out.

Adan Valentine- "(Looks her in her eyes with a smile) "Can I call you something else?"

Tim nudges Adan's arm, Adan looks at him then back at Destiny.

Adan Valentine- "I'm sorry for that, my colleague has informed me not to say that. How can I help?"

Destiny Style- "I was wondering if you'd be interested if I could interview you for Billions Magazine?"

Adan Valentine- "Sure (Looks at the bartender) I'm going to need more shots over here."

Bartender- "Sure thing."

Adan turns looking back at Destiny.

Adan Valentine- "What questions would you be asking?"

Destiny Style- "Well I'll be asking questions for starters, Why don't you leave your house as often as you used to?"

Adan Valentine- "Well (Bartender places shots on the counter) I don't leave my house as much because I want my alone time. (Drinks a shot) I love feeling alone, at least that's how I've felt for the last fourteen years."

Destiny Style- "Would I be able to come over and check out your house for a bit? A tour?"

Adan drinks the last shot before looking at her.

Adan Valentine- (Takes another drink) "Sure, what time?"

Tim pulls Adan's arm turning him around with concern.

Adan Valentine- "Hold that thought. (Looks at Tim)"

Tim Code- "What are you doing?"

Adan Valentine- "Well for starters I'm trying to get lucky (winks). And two I feel like I can trust a reporter to see the inside of my own house."

Tim Code- "Not at your house, Adan listen to me everybody in town knows about your parent's death. If they search your house they might find something that we all missed."

Adan Valentine- "You're not my boss. I'm yours so I have the right to say something about it. (Looks at Destiny) Of course, you can come over, how about now?"

Destiny Style- "Thank you, Mr. Valentine."

Adan looks at Tim while drinking a shot.

Adan Valentine- "(Looks at bartender) Drinks on him. (Looks at Tim) I'm going to town tonight."

Tim shakes his head in disappointment while placing money on the bar counter. Outside Adan holds the door open for Destiny while Tim enters the front seat and starts the car. Tim looks in the rearview mirror.

Tim Code- "Home, Mr. Valentine?"

Adan Valentine- "Yes, Mr. Code."

Tim drives the car while Destiny asks more questions.
