Valentine: The Birth of the Pheonix

Scene 9 "Family meeting"

 Adan sits on the couch as the phone rings, he looks at the number labeled 555-3281.

Adan Valentine- (Hangs up the phone) "Stop calling me, I don't know you. (Looks at A.L.I.C.E.) Can you find out where this caller's from?"

A.L.I.C.E.- (Adan hands her the phone) "Of course."

While A.L.I.C.E. begins searching Adan stands up and begins pacing back and forth while thinking how to get General Thorn back and stop Heartbreak. Adan has a flashback to the last night he had with his parents, The last mean he had and the last word his mother said to him "Mommy has to go, I'll be back. I love you Adan." a tear runs down Adan's face while he leans against the doorway. A.L.I.C.E. turns and looks at Adan and interrupts him.

A.L.I.C.E.- "Mr. Valentine (Adan looks while wiping the tears from his face) I can't seem to trace it all the way but it's coming from Washington D.C."

Adan Valentine- (Grabbing the phone and places it back on the stand) "D.C., why does the President want to talk to me?"

A.L.I.C.E.- "Not from the white house, but a place called the bunker (A hologram of a building appears on the floor in front of Adan) It's a government-owned building that holds the legendary Nathan Jones."

Adan Valentine- "The Frost Devil, why does he want to talk with me? (shakes head) Nevermind that we have much bigger problems to worry about."

A.L.I.C.E.- "You're right but the sun's going down. You need sleep, Mr. Valentine."

Adan Valentine- (Yawns) "You're right. I'm going to bed. A.L.I.C.E. activate sentry mode and keep an eye on the house I don't need Heartbreak killing me in my sleep."

A.L.I.C.E.- "Yes Mr. Valentine."

A.L.I.C.E.'s body stands still with a hologram sitting inside of the suit, the suit moves its head back and forth slowly to view each end of the room. Adan walks down a hallway and up a set of stairs to his room.

In Detective Carter's house his wife Laura and his son, John(9), and his daughter, Cara(16), sit in their kitchen eating dinner. Their dog Sam sits at her bowl and eats with the family as usual. Carter looks at his wife from across the table while scooping mashed potatoes into his mouth.

Carter- (Swallows food) "Guess who I met today?"

Laura- "Who'd you meet today dear?"

Carter- "Two very special people. The first was General Thorn and the second was Mr. Valentine."

Laura, John, and Cara look at him with shock on their faces.

Cara- "You met Adan Valentine?"

Carter- "That's what I said."

Cara- "No way, you met millionaire hoty Valentine?"

Laura- "Cara!"

Cara- (Looking at Laura) "What all of the girls at school like him, (Looks back at Carter) Did you get an autograph?"

Carter- "No honey I didn't. He asked me for help on a case."

Laura- "Oh Carter, is he still on his parent's case? I told you he was going to bring it up again."

John- "What happened to his parents?"

Cara- "Something really bad happened to them."

John- "Are they ok?"

Laura- (Looks at Cara) "Cara stop. (Looks at John) They're fine John now finish your food then get ready for bed."

Carter- "We were talking about his little mental breakdown in public then next thing I know he has these powers."
