Valentine: The Birth of the Pheonix

Scene 10 "Silver liner"

On his way back down the stairs, Carter hears a loud crash coming from the living room along with the scream of a boy. Carter rushes down the stairs and into the living room only to be met with Heartbreak holding an unconscious Adan on his shoulder. Laura, Cara, and John sit in the far corner of the room crying and A.L.I.C.E slouched over not moving like a broken toy. Carter drops the keyboard and looks at the table in the kitchen where his gun was. Heartbreak looked at Carter with a sinister look. Carter runs for the table while Heartbreak runs after him, Carter jumps over the table while grabbing his gun. Heartbreak throws a chair at him, Carter ducks as the chair hits the edge of the table and flips it. Carter sits with his back against the table. All went quiet for a moment, Carter checks his clip and reloads his gun "Six." He says. Carter begins to move as a part of the table next to him explodes with an orange and black metal hand breaks through the would. The hand grabs his shirt and pulls him through the table and throws him across the room and out the kitchen window. Carter lies on his back moaning and groaning in pain as he rolled onto his side, a large shard of glass sits in his back. Inside of the house, Heartbreak walks towards the family in the living room with Adan still on his shoulder. He nears them and forms a claw on his hand. He hears footsteps behind him and turns around. BANG, goes the gun from Carter's hand. The bullet hits Heartbreak in the mouth, he moans in pain as a hole opens in the floor. Heartbreak jumps in it and the hole closes. Carter limps to his family as Laura rushes to him, she goes to hug him only to notice the shard of glass in his back.

Laura- "We need to get you to the hospital."

{Hospital}

Carter wakes up seeing Laura, John, and Cara sitting in hospital chairs while sleeping, he looks around seeing it raining outside. He sits up groaning as a doctor walks in holding a clipboard, the doctor rushes to him and lightly holds him keeping him on the bed.

Doctor- "Mr. Sabo you need to stay in the bed."

Carter- "What happened?"

Doctor- "We had to go through a long process with the surgery to remove the glass from your back."

Carter- (Looking around in a panic) "A.L.I.C.E., where's A.L.I.C.E.?"

Laura, John, and Cara wake up as Carter begins panicking about A.L.I.C.E. They rush over to his bedside.

Laura- "What's going on?"

Doctor- (Looking at Laura) "He's freaking out about someone named Alice. who's Alice?"

Laura- "Alice is... (Looks at Cara) Cara go get your aunt Alice. (Cara looks at Laura and hands her keys) Take my keys and you get your aunt... now."

Cara takes the keys and rushes out of the room while the doctor injects Carter with a needle, Carter falls asleep. Driving down the street, Cara stops at a stop sign seeing officers behind her. She turns right as the officer's turn with her they turn on the lights and sirens.

Officer- (From police car) "Pull over."

Cara pulls over and turns off the engine then waits for the police to walk to the car. The police drive past her and look at her with curiosity, Cara starts the car and sighs. At her house, Cara unlocks the house and walks in. upon entering she sees the kitchen table destroyed with shards of wood all over the floor. A trail of blood led from the back door to the living room, Cara followed the trail. She sees her father's gun and picks it up and places it in her back pocket in her pants. In the living room, Cara sees the coffee table broken with cups of tea either shattered on the floor or still sitting fully with cold tea. Cara walks over to A.L.I.C.E.'s shutdown body and looks down at it.

Cara- (Sighs) "I can lift you."

Cara leans over and tries to stand A.L.I.C.E. up.

Cara- (Groans) "How heavy are you?"

Cara lets go of A.L.I.C.E and begin thinking. She walks out to the garage and begins pulling an engine hoist into the house and wraps it around A.L.I.C.E. When the hoist was scurred Cara pressed the lift button on the panel, A.L.I.C.E. began lifting off of the floor. Cara stopped the hoist after A.L.I.C.E. stood up, she unhooked the hoist and walked in front of A.L.I.C.E. A.L.I.C.E.'s front was open, Cara began looking for the power switch. After a moment of not finding it, she stood in front of A.L.I.C.E. again. Cara walks inside of the suit and looked around, she stood looking out of the suit and sees a glowing button on the inside of the face. Cara pushed the button. The suit closed with Cara inside, Cara began freaking out screaming and hollering.

A.L.I.C.E.- "Welcome Mr. Valentine."

Cara- "A.L.I.C.E. it's me, Cara."

A.L.I.C.E.- "Inserting nano cord."

A.L.I.C.E. lowers a wired cord from behind Cara's head and inserts it into her head. Cara screams for a moment. The screams fade as A.L.I.C.E comes online.

A.L.I.C.E.- "Cara?"

Cara moans as her eyes open, her eyes turned grey with black lining her eyes. The suit opens and Cara walks out, her clothes changed along with her hair. Her clothes were a golden and grey jumpsuit with bullets lining her arms, legs, and chest. She looks at her arms as she rolled up her sleeve, on her arm was a tattoo of a gun with the clip and bullets next to it.

Cara- (Looks up at A.L.I.C.E.) "A.L.I.C.E. what did you do to me?"

A.L.I.C.E.- "My programming is to detect and upgrade a human... if they have the gene for it."

Cara- "What do you mean?"

A.L.I.C.E.- "Like Mr. Valentine, you had a gene inside of your brain that hadn't yet been evolved."

Cara- "So you're saying I..."

A.L.I.C.E.- "A hero? Villain? That choice is up to you."

Cara smiles for a moment then think.

Cara- "Well is I have powers then what can I do?"

She waves her hand at the floor as the sound of the gun goes off next to her. She jumps at the sound and looks at her hip as the gun begins smoking from its barrel.

Cara- "I control guns? (Looks at A.L.I.C.E.) Mom's going to kill me."

A.L.I.C.E.- "Where is your mother?"

Cara- "Oh yeah mom. You need to look more human and come with me."

A.L.I.C.E. changes her form to women and follows Cara outside to the car.

{Hospital}

Patients, doctors, and nurses all look on with curiosity as Cara and A.L.I.C.E. run through the hospital looking for Carter's room. Cara and A.L.I.C.E. enter the room with her father in the bed, Laura stands up and looks at Cara's outfit.

Laura- "Cara, what are you wearing?"

Cara- "It's a long story mom, but right now we need wake dad up. I explained to A.L.I.C.E. what happened to dad and she can fix him."

Laura- "We have to wait for him to wake up. In the meantime, you'll tell me what happened."

Cara- (Sitting down on a chair) "I was trying to reactivate A.L.I.C.E. and I stepped into the suit to turn it on. A.L.I.C.E. accidentally closed on me and stuck something into my head and when I came out of the suit my clothes changed and I controlled dad's gun without touching it and... I think I have powers."

Laura- "Powers?"

A.L.I.C.E.- "Yes mam, I can replay the whole event from beginning to end."

Laura- "Show me."

A.L.I.C.E. started a hologram in between Car, Laura, and herself showing the incident from the time Cara activated A.L.I.C.E. to the point of them leaving the house.

Laura- "I don't believe this."

Cara- "Now that we got that out of the way we need to think how we're going to save Mr. Valentine. Any Ideas?"

A.L.I.C.E.- "I have one but it involves Mr. Carter's help."

Laura- "Fine let's let him sleep."
