"Wake up, Percy!" Paul urged the daughter of Poseidon as she screamed her throat hoarse and thrashed around in her bed, kicking anything in a five-foot vicinity while also landing a few punches to Paul's stomach and face.

"Pe- oof!" Paul doubled over in pain and backed away a bit as he held his stomach and closed his eyes, hoping that the pain of the blow would just go away.

"This looked so much easier when Sally did it," The man mumbled as he tried to straighten out so as to be able to wake up Percy.

"Wake up," he nudged her with a baseball bat that she had next to her closet, "Come on, Perce."

Yet still, his efforts were useless as she continued to scream as if a lion was having a feast of her flesh, and kept thrashing around like a person trying to fight off an army of wasps.

He gave a huff as he tried to dodge and avoid every single punch and kick aimed at his way.

But Percy was relentless and seemed determined to hurt whatever and whoever was in her room, as if she was sure that there was something in her room.

"Wake up, Percy!" Paul shouted as he got kicked back and landed on his back, staring up at the ceiling as Percy kept kicking around and thrashing.

"This is going nowhere," Her stepfather muttered as he backed away quietly and went out of the room.

Minutes later, he walked back in with a batch of cookies on a plate and a huge glass of water. He then placed them on her set of drawers before going over to a chair next to her room's balcony door and sat down with a sigh.

"I really need to get a life."

And with that, a scream tore into the room.

"Can I sleep in and wallow in self-pity?"

"It's not my fault that you are retaking senior year and volunteered to decorate for the decade dance," Came Paul's voice as he stood near his stepdaughter's door and dodged the pillow being thrown at him.

Is he bruising? How the Hades did he get hurt? If it was someone, then I'm gonna have a great 'talk' with them.

"Yeah, it's Klaus' and Bekah's fault," Percy darkly muttered before wrapping her blankets around herself and trying to fall back asleep.

Paul made a tiny sound of disapproval, "I don't like those two. They don't make me feel like you are safe."

Percy groaned, "When the Hades have I ever been safe? And who is going to 'keep me safe'? Someone like Damon?"

Percy looked up at Paul and scrunched up her nose and eyebrows as she remembered the one smooch that had been planted on her lips by Damon Salvatore.
