Mac's POV

It's Tuesday morning, the day before the Valentines Day Dance. Yesterday was normal-ish. I mean, Mondays are never not normal so I guess it was normal. I was at the corner when I saw Nikko. "Hey, Nikko!" I told Nikko as we met at the corner. "Hey, Mac. How you bee-" I cut him off with a kiss. "Don't you think its a bit earl-" "NOPE" I replied. "In that case" he leaned in and kissed me.

"KiNkY~," Jen said.

"AHH," I yelped. "Why do you always find us in the middle of kissing?" Nikko asked her. "It's not my fault you two are always kissing!", she replied. "Hey, I'm going to 7-11. Want anything?", I asked. "I'll take a slushie," Jac said. "I'll take some chips," Nikko said. "Me too," said Jen. "Me three" Last time I checked there were only four of us, not five.

We turned to see Adam Rivera.

Fuck

"What do you want Adam?" asked Nikko. This kid has got balls if he talks to him like that. "I'm not talking to you two. I'm talking to Jenny." He is talking to Jen? And since when is she Jenny?

We all looked confused. "M-me?" Jen said. "Will you go to the dance with me?" WAIT for WHAT. I look over to Jac and he looks about ready to kill anyone who threatens his chance with Jen. "Ummm I'm sorry I'm going with someone else." By this point, Jac's anger has disappeared and has been replaced with sadness. I heard him whisper something that I think was "what...?" He isn't the only one that looks sad. Adam looks sad too. "Well, Jenny, who are you going to the dance with? Who's the lucky guy?" A solid 5 seconds past before Jen answered.

"I-I'm going with... With... NIKKO! YEAH!" "WHAT?!" Nikko and I said at the same time. Both Jac and Adam looked disappointed and sad. I saw Jac slowly put away the note he had made for Jen away. He spent the past 3 weeks planning it out. He put his heart into it for nothing. I swear you could've heard his heart crack from a mile away.

"This punk?" Adam said. "Y-yes!" I am so confused right now. "O-ok. Ummm, have fun." He mumbled something and then ran off towards the 7-11. I stood there in complete shock. I won't lie, I was a bit angry when she said that. "Jen... WHY NIKKO?" "I'm sorry! He was the closest person and I didn't want to say no to his face directly! I'm sorry Mac I'm so sorry."

See, the thing with Jen is that she can't say no, not even to her worst enemy. She hates hurting others' feelings. "I-It's fine. I'm gonna go to 7-11. I'll be back." I said. Jac and Nikko both just stood there, silent, speechless. I was going to ask Nikko but I guess Jen beat me to it. It's fine. But... What if he has feelings for Jen after the dance. What if he doesn't like me anymore. What if he... what if he leaves me?

I returned to see Jen, Jac, and Nikko talking. I gave them their chips and stayed silent the rest of the way to school.

Jac's POV

What the HELL just happened?! I was going to ask Jen to the dance but...... I guess its fine, it's not like I spent weeks finding out what to write in the note... Nope. By the time we arrive at school, I can feel tears threatening to pour out. Luckily they don't.

*Time Skip to End of School Day*

"I'm going to the pizza place. You three wanna come with?", Jen asked. I was more than happy to spend time with her. Mac, on the other hand, hesitated a bit. Nikko whispered something to Mac and he nodded. "Yeah, we're all in". Nikko put his arm protectively around Mac. "Yeah, let's go," Nikko whispered something to Jac which I barely heard.

"I love you and only you..."
