Chapter Four

Jen's POV

Class was normal for maybe five minutes before there was a loud knock on the door. Ms.Lemmings, our history teacher opened the door to find a very nervous boy standing next to our principle, Dr.Choon. Ms.Lemmings spoke first, " Ah, Dr.Choon what a pleasant surprise! Is this the new student that I was told was arriving from Ireland?". "Yes, this Nikko Barque. His family just moved here from Ireland and he has quite the personality. Good luck with him!". And with that, Dr.Choon walked back to her office, not looking back once. The class was silent for a good minute before Ms.Lemmings finally spoke. "Erm, class this is Nikko Barque, our new student from Ireland. How about you tell us a little about yourself, Nikko?". The boy, Nikko did not hesitate. "My name is Nikko Barque and I am American with Irish roots. So no, I am not from Ireland thank you very much. My parents are, not me. I'm 11. That's all I'm saying because you guys are strangers." Ms.Lemmings explained the rules to him and told him to sit at the desk to my left. When class was dismissed, myself, Mac, and Jac each went to our lockers which were right next to each other. The locker next to Jac had always been unoccupied so I guess they decided to give that one to Nikko. Once we got our things for math, we walked up to him. I'm the one who talks the most out of the trio so I spoke first. "Hey, I'm Jennifer Animy but you can call me Jen for short. This is Mac Hernandez, and this is......Jacob Bosnia. We usually call Jacob by Jac. We are in your history class and we were wondering if you would like us to take you to your next class." He responded with such joy that it frightened me a bit. "Hi, Jen, Jac, and Mac! It would be great if you could show me to my next class. Here's my schedule." He handed me his schedule and smiled once I saw his classes. He had all but Science with us! "Good news, Nikko. You have almost all classes with us! All but science. You can walk with us to class and we'll guide you to Science. Sound good?". He flashed a grin at the three of us and simply said, "Sounds great."

~Le Time Skip~

 Mac, Jac, and I were talking and walking out of Science when Mac stopped abruptly. I looked at him and then at to what he was staring at. Nikko was being bullied by Adam Rivera, the biggest bully in Winterberg Jr High.

Mac's POV

We were walking out of Science when I look to my side. I stopped abruptly. Nikko was getting bullied "Hey fat ass," someone told Nikko. "Look in the mirror idiot," Nikko replied. Oh no... He just talked back to Adam Rivera. The WORST bully in Winterberg Jr High. "What did you say to me punk?!" " Wow, you're deaf and dumb? You are truly one of a kind." This is NOT going to end well. "GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS. NIKKO... IS GOING... TO GET BEAT... UP!!!!. WE HAVE TO HELP HIM!! "How will we do that?" asked Jen. "JUST COME!" We ran over to Nikko. We arrived just in time. "This is what you get punk!" "STOP!!!" I yelled. "Well well well. If it isn't little Mac and Cheese. This doesn't concern you." "It does when our fellow students are being harmed." "You want a beating too? I will gladly do that" "Leave. Him. Alone." I don't know what I'm doing but I think I'm fucked. He was about to punch Nikko but I grabbed his arm. "YOU JUST MADE THE LIST NERD!" "Make it the list of the nerds who beat you up." With that, I punched him in the face. By now half of the school was around us. "You want a fight? That's what you'll get. After school. In the quad. And don't even THINK about ditching." said Adam. Adam left and the crowd burst into cheers. Jen and Jac congratulated me. After like 3 seconds the crowd left. Except for one person. "Thanks..." Nikko said. "I saved your ass but sacrificed mine." He laughed. There was an awkward silence. "Welp we should probably get to English." I said."Oh yeah. Right." "Friends?" he asked. "Friends. Meet us at table 4 at lunch." "Will do," Nikko said. My new friend was going to cost me my ass but... I didn't care. I didn't care.
