Willy smiled brightly as he played poker with the other Leafs. He was winning, and he had just scored two times and made an assist against the top team in the National Hockey League, the Tampa Bay Lightning.
"I still can't believe that we won," Mitch said as he put in his ante. "Maybe we really can beat them."
"Did you completely forget that the Bruins are still a thing?" Nazem said. "They'll be a bitch to beat. Rask is really, really good."
Freddy looked up and glared at Nazem.
"Hey, it's true! You're better though, Freddy," Nazem said as he pat him on the back.
   "Uh-huh."
Auston finished shuffling the cards and dealt them out, and everyone returned their attentions to the game.
"Damn, Will, your stack of black chips is taller than your stack of whites!" Mitch said.
Willy grinned and looked down at his hand, then he frowned.
Nazem noticed him frown, then put in two black chips. Will glared at him as everyone else put in their black chips, then put in his share.
Once everyone was done betting, they set their cards down. Nazem had two pairs, Mitch had nothing, Auston had a flush, and Will had a royal flush.
"Dammit!" Mitch said. "I only have three white chips left!" He was right. That's all he had.
"Be glad you're not playing with money," Auston said.
"Yeah," Freddy said from the couch. "He spent it all on going across the border to get some Mountain Dew. I saw him yesterday after practice."
Nazem looked down. "Did I actually fall for that? I mean, come on..."
"That's what you get for trying to read me," Will replied.
Connor Brown walked over to them. They all looked at each other and Naz grumbled.
"Hey guys! Can I join this time? I bet I'd win!" he said over-excitedly.
"Don't you have more ...appliances to clean?" Auston asked him impatiently. Connor shook his head.
"I cleaned the refrigerator twelve times today. I don't think there's any more bacteria in the thing at all. But I got you guys some sandwiches and coffee from Timmy's!"
"Why does your mother still love you?" Nazem asked.
"Wait, did you just say Timmy's?" Mitch asked. Connor nodded. Auston looked at him.
"C'mon. It's Tim Horton's. We need to at least let him play for a little bit," Auston whispered. "It's not like he'll win anything." Nazem wasn't convinced.
"What if he accidentally touches us or something? It's too much to risk. We might get diseases," he said.
"Just sit him at the counter instead. I want those sandwiches," Mitch compromised.
Willy confusedly looked around at everyone. He didn't understand why everyone hated Connor; he liked him.
"Hey, Connor, do you wanna go get a beer with me?" Willy asked. Connor's face lit up.
"What?" Nazem was utterly thrown off. "You're in the middle of a poker game!"
"It's not like I'd lose," Will replied.
"Hey, can I come?" Mitch asked. "I want beer!"
Willy looked at him and paused for a second before speaking. "How did you get alcohol a few games ago? Aren't you only twenty?"
Mitch fished around in his pocket and pulled out his wallet.
"Fake ID! Auston and I both have one!" he exclaimed as he held up a card. Auston's eyes went wide and he elbowed Mitch. Freddy started laughing hysterically without even looking up from his magazine.
"Well, yeah I guess you can come too, as long as you stop pushing around Connor," Will said.
   Mitch frowned. "Fine."
Auston and Nazem didn't budge besides Auston shuffling the deck of cards.
"Have fun," Freddy said, still not looking up from his magazine.
While Will, Connor, and Mitch went out to get drinks, Auston, Nazem, Freddy, and Kasperi (who was in the shower) decided to go on their own adventure... or something.
"Where'd Willy go?" Kap asked before he even noticed anyone else was also gone.
"He's out with Mitch and Connor. They went to a bar," Nazem answered. Kappy frowned with saddened eyes.
"He didn't invite me?" he asked, reluctantly.
"Nope," Nazem answered promptly. "You can get some sweet revenge by uh... Going out with us, though!"
   Auston piped in.
"Yeah we'll go to the arcade or some shit. It'll be fun. Trust me." He put a hand on Kap's shoulder. "You'll be alright. And I know you like him, by the way."
Kappy's face turned beet red.
"N-no? No, I don't—"
"Yes you do," Nazem said. "I can see it on your face."
"I have a girlfriend," Kasperi protested.
Auston and Nazem looked at each other with eyebrows raised.
"We'll see how long that lasts," Nazem replied with finality as he put the chips back in the poker box.
