The next day all six of them hung out in one of the hotel rooms watching the television, which often mentioned the arrival of The Beatles. They didn't really have anything planned to do until the next day when the boys would get to be on television.
Monica sat on the bed talking to Cynthia when Paul approached them, "Are you two coming out with us tonight?"
Monica furrowed her eyebrows, "Where are we going?
"There's a club downtown that we've been invited to, it should be fun, just a night of dancing and drinking, you know."
"Will there be cameras?"
"Maybe a few but we'll keep them off of you two, don't worry."
She nodded and looked at Cynthia, "It would be fun."
Cynthia agreed, "Yeah we'll go."
Later that night they took a limo to the club. The place was loud and there was live music playing, and a fully stocked bar.
Monica got out onto the dance floor and Paul joined her and they danced together to a couple of songs. Paul's eyes looked serious and emotional despite the fun rock and roll music playing. It didn't look like he was sad, but he was smiling a sweet content smile and his eyes were filled with a passion. He stopped mid dancing and pointed across the room to John, "I'm going to go talk to John for a moment and get us some drinks." He had to kind of shout over the music but Monica nodded and kept dancing as he walked away.
Suddenly she felt two hands grab her waist playfully and it made her jump. She turned around to see Ringo standing there with a big smile on his face, "Would you care to dance?" He asked.
Monica laughed, "You scared the shit out of me Rings!"
"Well sorry but I couldn't have you dancing here all by yourself now could I?" He said still grinning like a loon.
She rolled her eyes and grabbed his hand, "I'd love to dance." She glanced across the room to where Paul was talking to John. John looked somewhat upset but Paul seemed excited. She wondered what they were talking about but ignored it and turned back to Ringo who spinned her around suddenly, making her giggle.
He grabbed her other hand and they spun around with each other in goofy ways, laughing the whole time. They would try to both spin around at the same time while keeping hold of each others hands, or they would attempt to spin together as fast as they could and always ended up running into someone. Monica giggled as Ringo tried and failed to spin her around in fancy ways which always ended up with one of them nearly falling or the two of them bumping into each other painfully.
Ringo held on to just one of her hands and spun her around over and over again as many times as he could until finally she got dizzy and fell into him. Her hands were pushed up against his chest and he caught her with his arms around her back. Their faces were only a few inches apart and Monica laughed for a moment at the failed spin but her breaths got caught in her throat as she looked at Ringo's eyes.
They looked as if they were about to pop out of his head and she'd never seen his pupils quite so large. He was smiling slightly but in a very calm way and he seemed to have very suddenly lost all the excitement of the music and dancing and was just staring at her and only her with eyes full of emotions she couldn't quite read.
She saw his eyes shift down slightly and look at her lips and his head tilted slowly forward. Monica couldn't quite register what was going on, her head had gone fuzzy and she started to feel a warm tingling in her chest. Her heartbeat quickened as he got closer to her until very suddenly he jumped away, letting go of her completely. She was confused, almost disappointed, but then noticed Paul standing behind him.
