8. Natures Natural Nymph

I am planning on using something like this for the book cover.

Rare is an albino peacock.

Rare is a jeweled squid.

Rare is a Chinese Lantern plant.

Rare is a Dragon Skull bloom.

And the rarest of them all; Natures natural most prized creation- a Nymph.

Humans don't know we exist, but we do. I'm proof that we exist. My brothers and sisters are proof that we exist. But, of course, we can't let any Human know of us. If we do, we risk the ever evident chance of capture.

We don't want humans using us for their personal gain.

My mother told me stories of how humans were beasts. They destroyed what we restore; forests, meadows, oceans, and rivers. They only have greed in their hearts, gluttony in their stomachs, and malicious intent in their eyes.

She has told my siblings and I of their sharp teeth that tear open animals without mercy, there beady eyes that can spot you from a mile away, and their large noses that sniff out your fear.

She wasn't very good at bedtime stories...

I didn't know at the time that all of that was a lie. I only knew what my mother told me. I'm not so ignorant and blind now. I met a human. She was nice.

She didn't have beady eyes. She didn't have sharp teeth as mother described. She was, in fact, the most beautiful female human I had ever laid eyes on. Then again... she was the only human I had ever laid eyes on.

Unfortunately, because of my mistake, that event led from one thing to another, and I'm thrown into a world of cat and mouse.

I'm the mouse.
