"Calum!" Ashton came running to me when I entered the cafeteria.

"Ashton!" I mocked.

"I need a favor", he grinned.

"What kind of favor?" I asked.

"Are you a good writer?" He scrunched his nose. "I need your help with an assignment".

"But I'm a junior", I said confused.

"A freshman probably has better grammar than me", he giggled. "Would you please please please help me?"

"Uh, sure", I shrugged. "What's it about?"

"Just some stupid literature essay, I don't really remember, wasn't paying attention", he sighed.

"Oh, great. Okay, yeah, I'll do it", I smiled. I wasn't exactly excited about it, but Ashton was nice and it wasn't a big deal.

"Awesome!" He gushed. "Can you come to my house after school?"

"Yup", I nodded.

"Great, see you then", he grinned and walked away.

"See you then", I repeated even though he probably didn't hear me.

I sat on my usual spot waiting for Luke, but instead of him, Adelaide came and sat with me. She smiled and I rolled my eyes.

"Would you please leave? I don't remember saying it was okay for you to sit down at my table", I said in the lowest voice I could reach.

"Harsh", she glared at me but she couldn't hide her smile for too long. "I hate you", she said laughing.

"You don't", I smiled. "Are you feeling any better?"

"I'm trying not to think about anything right now", she sighed. "Just go with the flow".

"Just go with the flow?" I chuckled.

"Yup. That's my motto this week", she laughed.

"Adelaide!" A voice said from behind us. "What are you doing? Come sit with me", Josh said grabbing her arm.

"Hey, careful there", I said. I hated so much the way he treated her, and it annoyed me to see her doing nothing about it.

"Hu?" Josh said frowning.

"Stop that", I said trying to sound as confident as possible.

"Excuse me?" He smirked. "What did you just say, kid?" He snorted.

I rolled my eyes and looked around to see if I could find Luke. I was most definitely not trying to get in a fight, but if I was gonna end up fighting with someone, I better not be alone. But Luke was nowhere to be found so I just stayed quiet.

"Alright, let's go, Addy", Josh said and Adelaide stood up. She sent me a thin smile before walking away with Josh.

Right after they left Luke showed up. Just in time.

"Nice timing", I said annoyed.

"Calum", he said grabbing my arm with a terrified look.

"What?" I said and he just stared at nothing, eyes wide open.

"Oh my God", Luke said nervously. "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God".

"Okay? Calm down", I laughed. "What's wrong?"

"Remember the girl that I told you about the other day?" He rushed the words out, completely out of breath.

"Uh, no? Which girl?" I asked.
