Thirty-Eight

I walked the halls of my school, and sighed as I walked into my English class. I sat down in my usual seat. I fiddled with my pencil, and as soon as I looked up, I saw Sheldon Cooper right in front of my desk.

"Sorry I didn't mean to startle you. Can I borrow an eraser?" He asked.

"Yeah sure." I replied, handing him a green eraser.

He took the eraser but didn't leave. He just stood there in front of my desk.

"Aren't you going to "spill the tea" as what all the girls say after a breakup?" Sheldon asked with a straight face.

"What?" I asked.

"Georgie informed all of us of your breakup last night."

"Oh. Okay then."

"Well I should get back to my seat."

Nothing scared me more then when I saw that Georgie wasn't coming into class. Maybe he's sick or something. I doubt it though.

Once English class was over, I headed to math.

"Hello Kim." I said as I sat down next to her.

"How ya feeling?" She asked.

"Fine."

"It must have been akawrd first class. You and Georgie are sitting right next to each other."

"He wasn't in class. And do you see him in this class either?"

Kim looked at me with a panicked facial expression.

"He must be skipping."

"Well duh."

As soon as math was over, I walked all around the schoolyard trying to find Georgie. I found his dad, who gave me a slight wave while walking over to me.

"Was Georgie in class today?" George Cooper Sr asked.

"No. I think he skipped." I replied.

"What happened between you two anyways?"

I looked down at my feet, not wanting to answer the question. It hurt me to talk about it.

"Sorry it's none of my business." George Sr said and patted me on my shoulder before walking off.

I spotted a blurry figure sitting in the Football bleachers.

I ran over to see that it was that of Georgie Cooper Jr.

Part of me wanted to go over and talk to him, but part of me wanted to stay put and pretend like he didn't exist.
