Marie Cousins P.O.V
I rolled my eyes playfully, and continued walking. Georgie fell silent, so did I.We didn't speak until we got to the high school and sat down on the bleachers again, looking out onto the football field.
"So how's football going?" I asked.
"It's going." Georgie replied.
I looked up at the sky as some sort of tear protecting barrier. Not that it worked. As soon as I felt water a millimetre away from my eyelids, I dried it with the skin of my finger.
"You okay?" Georgie asked.
"Fine." I replied.
As soon as our eyes locked, I remembered the first time I had seen those very eyes for the first time.
God what did I do?
Friends. Just friends Marie.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Georgie was starting to get concerned.
"I SAID I'M FINE!" I suddenly snapped.
I looked into his eyes once again, and they were filled with confusion, which soon lead to sadness.
"What's going on?" He asked softly.
"I can't tell you." I replied.
"Why not?"
"Because."
"Because why?"
"Okay I'm NOT playing the because-because why game okay?"
"I wasn't gonna play that game with you."
"You're a terrible liar." I joked.
"Alright I can take it. But really what's bothering you?"
I felt my expression go from smiling all the way down to a frown.
"I um did bad on I test that's what happened." I lied.
"What test?"
"Um a math test."
"Oh."
I felt my stomach drop as if I was on a roller coaster. Do I tell him the truth?
"Okay Georgie I'm gonna be honest here. I didn't do bad on the math test." I said.
"Then why did you tell me that you did?" Georgie asked in reply.
"Because I didn't have the courage before to tell you that I was having regrets about breaking up with you."
