Lance was doing what he usually did on his off time in the castle of lions- bothering anyone else around. He was walking by the kitchen when he had stumbled into Pidge when she was leaving somewhere in a hurry.
Something she's trying to keep secret maybe...
At the time he had no intention in bothering her at the time. He saw Hunk trying a new recipe with the food goo and decided to help out. Hunk looked up as he came in, "oh hey Lance! I'm trying to make a cake... the food goo is the closest thing to batter around here... I might need an extra hand." He looked up at the blue paladin hopefully. Lance shrugged and walked inside. "Sure, why not."
He began stirring together what was supposed to be vanilla icing but it was more a deep purplely colour.
Heh, almost like the Galra...
His mind went back to Pidge and also when they were flyers by back to the castle, and he was a bit puzzled. "Hey Hunk remember when Pidge was lagging behind? She just left to go recover some Galra machinery or something like that, but I dunno, I would have thought she'd have liked to salvage for parts earlier and Galra stuff can be pretty tricky." He said, not looking away from the increasingly sticky and frustrating icing. "Pidge will be Pidge- I usually don't see you concerned about her." Hunk said as he mixed some ingredients, smiling a bit at lances reaction.
"Wha- excuse me! I do not care I simply thought she was being weird! Sorry for asking..." he trailed off. Hunk was silent for awhile until he said suddenly "oh yeah I remember that from earlier- that was weird. But you know Pidge any thing to do with science she'll jump at it." He responded. Lance scrunched up hi shave a bit as he finished stirring and the cake was put in the oven. "What now?" Lance asked. "You have to be patient Lance this cake won't beak itself in a second. Now we wait."
He waited for quite some time.
So much time, Lance got bored and walked off. He headed to the main control room. Allura was in there talking to Matt a little, watching as she laughed at a joke he had said. Lance inhaled and walked over to the two of them, a sudden interest spurring in him. He pushed Matt back a little as he slid in between them, saying to Allura "so, Allura in saw Pidge going out, thought that was a bit strange..."
Pidge may be gone but her brother still causes problems...
He thought bitterly as he saw them smiling at each other.
"Ah, yes Pidge. She decided to go look for any helpful technology from the Galra, did you want to go with her?" Allura asked. Lance shook his head. "Just curious. Shouldn't we track where she's going?"
Allura straightened up and said "I suppose... but... why so suspicious of her?"
He said simply "looking out for her." He said as he walked past Matt to go next to the large screen that hung on the large glass bowl that surrounded the room. Matt went over to him, oblivious to Lances unkind stare. "Well I think Pidge would be fine but it's so nice for you to look out for her!" He looked at Allura. "Allura, why don't we check where Pidge is going, just to be sure?" Allur smiled and said "of course, why not." And pulled up the screen of all the lions. Four were nestled safetly in the castle, while one green dot was rapidly going towards a small planet. Allura scrunched up her face. "How strange, she's at a planet near where your battle was but, she's not following anyone. There's nothing there." The three of them all watched as the green dot descended unto the planets exterior. For sometime it stayed stationary, Matt giving suggestions to why that could be, Lance just making dismissive oks and hmms. Allura remained silent as the green dot suddenly Rose up, and then... flew away from the planet.
In the opposite direction from where it came.
Allura began to get anxious.
What on altea is she doing?!
Suddenly as the ship neared a large open expanse of space...
The dot disappeared.
"No!" Allura shouted as she saw it flicker from existence. The other two were started and collectively said "What is it?!"
"She's gone, I can't see the lion anymore."
What if she was captured... or worse.
"I'll need you to go after her!" Allura said as she bolted out the room.
Lance and Matt followed as they went out the room. "We're leaving immediately! You get Hunk I'll get Shiro!" She shouted in a shrill and worried tone. Lance nodded as he spun around, nearly smacking her into Matt.
"Matt I've got to get through-" "please let me go with you." He said. Lance sighed and said "I'm sorry but, this might be dangerous, I can't have you get hurt"
Or in the way, he thought.
"I know but... I have to. I'll fight if you need another hand, and-" "listen Matt I'm sorry I've got to go," he said, about to run past. "Lance." Matt responded, calm but full of worry. "For a whole year she thought half her family was gone. For a whole year I thought I'd never see my family again. She crossed the universe to find me. I have to go. Please." Lance sighed. "I can't argue with that. Come on, let's go get her back."
