Trust

Noun

1. firm belief in the reliability, truth or ability of someone or something

Sometimes those around you who you trust the most, are the ones who you should trust the least.

My name is Allison O' Brien, and I'm 17 years old. I live in a quiet town called Ashtree oak, it's filled with forests and trees and looks like something out of twilight or teen wolf but nothing much really happens here. I attended the local high school with my best friend Luke. Luke is one of those socially awkward geeks who stutter and crumble when trying to communicate with anyone who he is not familiar with, but he's used to me because he's stuck with me.

September 2013

Luke had been acting really strange recently, after we had come back to school from summer break, he didn't walk with me to school like he usually does, he hadn't texted me for weeks, was he on a permanent man period or something the little bitch? I just shrugged it off, he's probably been so intrigued in his new science fiction novel to anticipate the outside world, typical nerd Luke. I strolled through the corridors and wondered up to my locker which is a few down from Luke, and noticed an unfamiliar torso leaning against the locker flirting with some blondy booby slaggy barbie. I kept glancing over discreetly while pushing my unwanted crap into my locker and noticed that familiar smirk anywhere, it was Luke! It was Luke with his hair styled into a quiff instead of his messy flat hair, black ripped skinny jeans which suffocated his legs instead of his usual dorky trousers, vans on his feet instead of his cute little lace up shoes, a flannel hanging off his shoulders instead of his little cardigan and a lip piercing?! Luke are you fucking serious, a lip ring? Luke would normally try to avoid contact with people, not flirt with sluts and exchange numbers, he's exchanging numbers with her, what the hell Lucas!

"LUKE" I screamed angrily, shoving the plastic whorebag out of way, "what the hell are you playing at, you've ignored me for weeks, didn't walk with me to school and now you're dressed like a compete tool"

"Sorry babe, I just got caught up with stuff, made some new friends, it's not a big deal, stop acting like you're on your period or something" Luke spoke deeply with a smirk plastered across his face.

Firstly, Luke never calls me babe, like what the fuck no ew.

Secondly, if this cocky shit doesn't shut up then I will punch him in the face.

"You could have at least skyped me" I mumbled whilst looking to my feet

Luke put his hand under my chin and lifted it up " I'm sorry babe, you're still my best friend and I promise I'll always be here for you" Luke said with that stupid smirk still across his face that I couldn't help but forgive, what is with this sudden burst of confidence?

A tall tanned curly hairy boy walked up to Luke and gave him some weird man hug thing (I don't know I'm a girl)

"Eyy Luke mate" he said cheerily, my God he was the hottest thing I had ever seen, I wouldn't mind cooking a full English on him.

"Ally this is Ashton, Ashton this is Ally" Luke introduced, I just stood there staring at Ashton's ripped chest in awe, his vest top showed it off perfectly, I was completely speechless.

"Hey Ally" Ashton spoke with a slight wink, I didn't acknowledge his gesture until after moments of awkward silence he mumbled the words to Luke "Well then, you coming to first period mate" and they both wondered off down the corridor. I'm such an embarrassment to the female species.

This Ashton character was strange, how did he know Luke? Luke doesn't have friends especially not ones as popular and as good looking as Ashton. Over the next few weeks I decided to do my research on Ashton, observe them, see what the do in their spare time.

October 2013

I had gathered some information about Luke's new life, it was harder than I expected as now me and Luke hardly spoke, when he passed me in the corridors he wouldn't even look at me like I was a piece of gum on the floor, I miss my best friend so much. He'd also began smoking and gained a few tattoos, something he was totally against a few weeks ago, I mean the new Luke was much hotter and oh my god I would do him under a table but I much prefer my nerdy best friend who made me laugh and was always there for me. Luke and Ashton also had two other friends who were often present in their little schemes of pulling girls or pranks. Calum Hood was one of them. He was tanned and had dark chocolate hair that glistened perfectly in the sunlight, he also had abs for days and the cutest smile that would have any girl melting at his feet. He was so hot, I can feel butterflies in my stomach just talking about him. The other one was Michael Clifford, the badass of the school, his hair often changed colour and was often sat outside the principles office with a big smirk plastered across his face. He also had the reputation of the player, fucking a girl at nearly every party, breaking hearts of the innocent and currently dating a blonde slag called Victoria. I doubt that will last long.
