10: Best Last Day

I walk out of the bathroom, hiding the bag inside my satchel. I walk by Josh and he gives me a worried look.

"Oh my god, babe are you okay? What happened?"

I wanted to tell him...but I knew that Leo would hurt Josh if I said anything.
So I lied the best I could.

"Well, I wanted to skip class and clear my thoughts, but I ended up rolling down a hill and hitting my head. I'm alright though, I went to the nurse."
He nodded and gave me a peck on the cheek.

Finally. He believes you. Tonight is your chance to do what you're meant for, Tyler.

"So...I was wondering if you could come over tonight? I've missed you even though we hung out not too long ago. You can spend the night if you want."
Josh's cheeks turned red as I gave them a peck

"I'd love to Josh. We should watch a movie or something."
I smiled. You can barely tell that it's fake. I want Josh's last day with me to be his best, so I want to make it good for him.
Josh bounced around like a little kid excitedly.

"O-okay!! Awesome! I have some movies in my room, some blankets, and food."
We walked hand in hand to his place, the misty, rainy air hanging low, making it hard to breathe. But that was okay. Everything was damp and beautiful. It's like the world just let out it's last cry for me. As we walked towards his street, we pass a bridge that I try not to look at for too long.

I can't have him be suspicious.

When we get inside, I set my stuff in the corner of his room and he sets up the movie. I'm not sure what we're watching, but I want it to be his choice.
I love him so much. I don't want his last memory of me being the fact that I got beat up or I got incredibly drunk just to prove a point. I want it to be happy. Just for him. No one else.

He picks out some sort of Disney movie, I think it was Beetlejuice, I could tell from the semi-eerie vibe it gave off and the odd colors it had.

"Hey babe, I'm gonna make us a bowl of popcorn, okay? I'll be back up in five."
Josh yelled as he walked downstairs.

"Okay!"
I said with another 'genuine' smile plastered across my face.
When I heard him enter the kitchen downstairs, I quickly opened my backpack to grab a soda to keep me awake. Then I grabbed a pen, my journal, and flipped to the back, starting my goodbye note. I explained everything. I explained that Leo was dangerous, and if I didn't do this, he'd get hurt. I explained how the bullying was too much. My family was too much. I couldn't take it anymore.

I'm tired of being a mistake that can't be fixed.
