Jens pov
"I-sorry" I stutter and try to walk around but he blocks me. "Jennifer" he says and I look up at him. Scared. Worried. Wanting to be back with the girls.
"I-I have to go, excuse me" I say and try leaving again and he puts him hands on both sides of my arms "don't touch me" "Okay I-" he sighs and let's go and I take that chance and quickly walk away even though I knew he was going to talk. I don't wanna speak to him. I'm over him and I don't need to be depressed again.
I get back to the table and Leah looks right at me. "Leah what're you gonna order?" I ask her. "Jennifer.." I look at her straight to her eyes. She could tell something's wrong but I'm not gonna say anything.
"I'll just order the same thing you get. Emme what do you want?"
"Pizza"
"Are you sure? There's more choices"
"I want pizzaaaa"
"Okay Okay you can have pizza"
I say and she gets happy and climbs over to sit on my lap. I wrap my arms around her and lightly rest my head on her shoulder from behind and watch her play on her iPad. I need a hug right now. I don't feel good. My stomach feels empty and not because of hunger. Why would he even want to talk to me? Is he retarded? Maybe he changed. No. If he changed he would've wanted to contact Emme more. That's his daughter. Well..I did change my number actually.
Leah looked up and saw someone pass by so I looked too since she was just staring and it was him. He came back to his table and looked at us.
He knows I'm bi. Maybe he thinks Leah is my girlfriend. Or just a friend. I don't know.
"Jen can we talk later? Please?" Leah says
"Um..Yeah. Whatever" I say then look back down and kiss Emme's Head.
"Emme" "huh?" She says and looks up at leah. She got lost for a second then realized it was me who called her "Yeah?" "Why do you smell like..Leah?" Since I know exactly how Leah smells which is heavenly. "I used her soap and shampoo again." She says. I look up at leah and raise my brow and she nods her head. "Oh I See. Well you smell amazing!" I say and sniff her hair again "stooop" she giggles and pushes my face away.
After an uncomfortable dinner for me, we went outside and waited for our car from valet. Emme and sofia were in between me and Leah who were facing each other. Then I saw through the glass door into the restaurant, he was walking this way.
"Oh no" I say and put my hand on Emme's Head bringing her closer to me and looked around to see if my car was here yet.
"Jen what the hell is wrong?" She says closer to me making sure the girls didn't hear. "Leah I told you. It's nothing." "I've been getting to know you a lot more to know you're lying"
I groan and run my hands through my hair "I don't wanna talk about it. Okay? Just leave it alone." I say and sigh and that's when the door opened and he looked at me.
"Jennifer please. Stop avoiding me" he says and Leah looks at me very confused. I make sure Emme doesn't see and keep her close to my leg which she was hugging with one arm.
"I don't want to talk to you. Leave me alone."
"Can I at least talk to her?"
"No. Leave. She doesn't want to see you" I say and I know Leah is just staring. "Who is this Babe?" Leah asks. "Babe? You have a girlfriend?" "No i don't. Shut up!" I say to him and cover Emme's ears. Sofia and her aren't even paying attention.
"I just want to apologize." "Don't."
He sigh and squats down. "Emme" he says "no don't" I say and my car pulls up. I carry Emme and Leah and sofia start walking with me to the car leaving him just standing there.
I start to drive away quickly making sure he knows I'm pissed.
Once we got back to the hotel we all took a bath and shower taking turns and then we all watched a movie together. Well sofia took my spot by Emme so I went in Leah's bed again. The lights were off so the only light on was from the tv. They were so focused on the movie which was good. I laid down to my side and went on my phone. I even texted Lynda about it all. She told me I did the right thing to push him away and good thing that Emme didn't see him. Emme would not react nicely if she did see him..
Leah's pov
Minutes into the movie I laid down to my side facing jen and kissed her cheek. But it was wet and tasted salty.
"Jen..you're crying?" I whisper. She doesn't answer and I see her red puffy eyes from the light of her phone. "Jennifer. Talk to me"
"No..not here" she says and sniffs and turns around facing her back to me. There's more that she hasn't told me. I thought what she told me last time was it. I guess not.
I moved her hair behind her ear and wrapped my arm around her from behind. Even though her ass is against me I'm not even thinking about doing anything while the girls are in here.
She cried a little more but it was a silent cry. I feel her sadness. "I don't want you to cry to sleep jen.." "just let me" she said "no. I wanna make sure you're better" "you can't.." "can we talk about it tomorrow then?" I ask and rub her arm. "Yeah.." She says softly.
I just let her fall asleep even though I hate knowing she's falling asleep crying. I wonder who that guy was. I have a huge feeling it's her ex. But that's just too random. How the hell did they end up bumping into each other when we live in California and he lives out of the country? He was with a girl. Maybe they were on vacation or something. She looked foreign. Whatever. I'm worried about jen. It hurts me when she's like this. She's a strong woman so whatever it is she's sad about must be really serious. Even though I don't think we're ready to be in a relationship I still care for her and how she feels. Although I don't even know about myself if I have feelings for her. I do but I don't. Like it doesn't feel complete..I don't know.
